NOTES: First, the "locking handles for easy transport": the locks are on the body of the slow cooker, so you can't take out the porcelain insert and lock the lid onto it; if you want it locked, you have to take the whole device. Second, I guess mostly because of the rubber gasket on the lid, the cooker creates a tightly sealed cooking compartment, and things cook differently as a result. Liquids don't cook off anywhere near as fast, and the flavors don't cook together quite the same.

PROS: The shape of the oval cooker is perfect. I've gotten a four-pound roast in the little thing. The temperature goes from just-warm to boiling, very versatile. It can go longer without attention because it retains moisture so well.

CONS: Some slow-cooker recipes may need tweaking; the cooking compartment is sealed pretty tightly whether or not the handles are locked (you're not supposed to cook with it sealed, but I do occasionally to concentrate flavors). More seriously, like most removable-insert crockpots, it wastes a lot of heat on the outside - it gets quite hot to the touch and is not efficient for summer use by any means.

Overall, for a small, not-too-expensive crockpot, it's really quite nice! I've now had it for quite a while, and cooked a lot of meals in it. Still works, still cleans up easily, dinner's routinely ready when I get home.

I was pretty happy with it, the lock things can get in the way but overall it worked well until one day the insert cracked all across the bottom and roast drippings seeped out. Since it's been a few months now I'm stuck with it and had to buy another crock pot. To my dismay, spending a lot more for a Kitchen Aid was not really the answer either as so many people report the same thing, the insert cracks. It's the cheap manufacturing practices, no quality, don't care mentality, of just about anything you buy these days.

After looking at different brands and sizes of slow cooker, this is the one I decided on. It is just right for a smaller household. The directions in the booklet are clear and the options [low, high, keep warm] all most of us may need.

I shoulda woulda coulda. If I had been thinking it through I would have purchased one with automatic turn off or automatic "go to just barely warm". This is best for people who KNOW they will be home when food is ready. If you're serious about using a slow cooker to come home to, spend an extra $20 for one that has a few more bells and whistles.

Other then that, I have enjoyed using this crock pot. It is reasonably easy to clean and does what you expect it to do. Cooks either very slow or not slow and you can put it to "warm" if you're not quite ready to serve. As with all slow cookers, you put stuff in, cook it a while, and voila, you have meals. This unit does its job.

just the right size Stay and Go for a small roast, soup or something for a couple or single person. shipped fast too.

Tha travel clips to hold the lid on are the main reason we bought this unit, and they work great! The lid has a seal that stops leaks and spills. Otherwise this is a no frills crock pot with hi, lo, and keep warm settings, less to go bad.

I'm doing a Goldilocks on this one..Just the right size and it's going in the motorhome when we travel. I have a bigger one that is just too big most times and this is perfect. Love the locking lid so it doesn't spill. Perfect.

This is my second Stay-Or-Go crock-pot... the first was their 6qt unit that I got for about the same price at Lowes and reviewed on here.... and this unit lived up to my first... it cooks like it should for recipes. And like that I can cook something and travel with it...

Just wish they would do a Stay-Or-Go 2qt crock-pot...

We have made a roast and vegetables in the slow cooker, both came out cripsy and flavorful without overcooking or drying out the flavor.
