I was given a Rival programmable 6qt over the holidays. Cooked way too hot. Did some research and decided on this slow cooker. I decided to do an experiment. I took my old 3.5qt Rival(about 10yrs old), the new 6qt Rival programmable and the Hamilton Stay or Go and put water in each about an inch from the top. Set them each on low and took temperature readings after 6 hours. The Rival 6qt was 20 degrees warmer than the other two. This slow cooker works great.

My only complaint was the rubber smell. I believe this smell comes from the seal on the lid.

I bought mine in stainless steel at a dept. store and wanted to review it because I LIVE FOR REVIEWS! Thanks to everyone who takes the time!

This is a great product, very stylish. I have only had it a month but it seems very well made and I only spent $30! The heating element seems to work perfectly with all the foods I have made.

I bought this 6 quart size for soups, stews and larger portions when needed. It is big, much bigger than my 4 quarter, so it takes up some significant space.

The lid is lined with rubber of some sort, which prevents leaking and keeps the moisture in. I don't know how long that will last but I do like that the lid sets and stays where you put it and it doesn't leak. I like this brand. A lot of quality for a reasonable price.

Now, to why I rated it a 4. Unless you are going to use it for "transport" get another H.B. cooker. The latches and the handles are hard to get around when the food is hot and you are lifting the stoneware out (I love the stoneware,seems very well made). I thought the latches were used for cooking when I bought it (my mistake), now I see that the lid alone takes care of things. ENJOY!

I have this in the stainless steel color. I absolutely love it! It is important to know that you can only use the hinges when traveling, not while cooking. It's controls are very basic with high, low, and, heat. But its just what i was looking for.

Nice size and design for this slow cooker. Despite its size, it is not heavy to move around the kitchen or to the car. The copper kettle look is a nice addition to the counter top.

This is a terrific appliance. The stainless version is quite elegant, and it's extremely light weight and easy to clean. The cooking settings are accurate, and the warm mode very useful. When doing something delicate like roasted vegetables with little liquid, it does a great job with no scorching.

I particularly like the fact that you can do a meatloaf in a metal pan (to keep the meatloaf shape), and just set the pan into the slow cooker. Unbelievably easy cleanup, and the meatloaf is moist with a nice crust.

I have owned a few crock pots over the years, including programmable models. My love affair with them has had highs and lows depending where I have been in my life. If I have the time I don't mind cooking with one exception: I don't like to hang over a stove and deal with a time consuming dish because I will invariably lose my appetite by the time the food gets to the table. This is where the humble crock pot has really come in handy. I use it for soups, roasts, stews, chilis, fricasses, meatballs, and even pot pies. The only thing I rarely use it for is dessert.

A basic crock pot is best for my needs. If it has 3 or 4 temperature settings, I am good to go. This pot manages to retain the temperature consistently. Food does not dry out because the lid has a tight seal. Clean-up is easy. The ceramic pot is impervious to steel wool(if you choose to use it). The stainless steel exterior requires a quick damp sponging and nothing else. The lid only can be used with the hinge when transporting. This is a nifty feature and I use it for family potlucks quite a bit.

The best aspect? Good, wholesome meals with minimal effort and great results. My husband loves crock pot leftovers better on the second day. The flavors tend to meld and meals such as stuffed peppers are even better. Needless to say, the crock goes from the fridge to the pot for a quick warm-up.

I'm sure there are other comparable models that do the job just as well. The grabber for me was the locking lid, but it performs well when it goes no further than my kitchen. Considering the very reasonable price I think this is a great crock pot.

I LOVE the hinges on this crock pot! No more messing with rubber bands that may, or may not hold the lid on. The rubber gasket around the lid keeps everything inside nicely. The handles also make it easy to get a good grip on it when going somewhere. Great crock pot!!

I am happy with the product, however very disappointed with Ritz Camera company. Their product description on Amazon is not what I received. It stated how it came with the carry case and a lid holder. Neither of which I received in the mail. When I contacted Amazon about my disappointment, they referred me to Ritz Camera. Then Ritz Camera referred me to Hamilton Beach themselves. I had to call and explain my situation to them and they sent me the carry case, but my crock pot still does not have the lid holder. I didn't feel like dealing with the company again so I still am not 100% satisfied. I don't think I would ever order anything on Amazon that comes from Ritz Camera again. Not only did they not send me what their description stated, but they wouldn't handle the problem themselves. Not a good reputation in my opinion. I would hope others read this review and NOT ORDER from RITZ CAMERA either!

Very happy to have this. It works great!!!! Love the spoon rest on the lid. Love the colour.

I absolutely LOVE this slow cooker. The heating is slow, even, and effective for those dishes that you just can't rush. Also great for keeping hot dips, or queso melt warm for a party. Great appliance for the price, as well! You won't be disappointed!!
