I purchased my griddle in time for the holidays and was
very pleased with the x-large surface cooking area and how well
it keeps an even heat througth out the surface. Although I was
a bit skeptical about the teflon coating I have been very impreased with its performance. The large drip tray is also very easy to clean. So if your like me and love pancakes,frenchtoast,
bacon and eggs or just some great hashbrowns, or maybe just
some good toasted cheese sandwiches! I know you'll be very happy with your purchase!

I was very pleased with the performance of this griddle. The surface is nice and slick, and there's plenty of room to maneuver and flip. And since I'm not tied to the cooktop, I can set it up on any convenient counter in the kitchen.

Ignore the temperature suggestions on the driptray, though. 375 degrees is way too hot for pancakes (which is what I use it the most for) - 350 is perfect for most things.

I really do recommend this griddle highly!

Have owned this for the past three months and love it--it does exactly what it's meant to do, very well, it's easy to clean, and has yet to lose its no-stick finish. The only problem is the drip tray--one of the prongs that holds it in place broke within a day or two of purchase and it falls out as it's being transported. It's still working, though, so it hasn't affected our use of this [inexpensive], useful appliance.

This griddle is great for just about everything. The only time it doesn't do well (at least for me) is when I can't move the food around.

First, the bad. I was surprised when I read other reviewers comments that it was great for pancakes, because the uneven heating does not make for a uniformally cooked pancake. If I make a single regular-sized pancake right in the middle it turns out great (at around 325F), but if I make more and move them closer to the edge I get half overcooked and half undercooked. Since cooking pancakes was the primary reason I bought this griddle, I'm not that thrilled with it.

That said, everything else about this griddle is great.

Cost - Good value, especially at Amazon
Build - Solid, only three parts (griddle, drip tray and power cord) and good quality
Clean - Very easy to clean, and the drip try really works well
Size - Large surface area makes it a breeze to cook up bacon and eggs for four people all at once
Speed - Heats up quickly, and cleans up even quicker

In a nutshell, if you're cooking food that has to remain stationary then I give this a 1-star. If you can move food around (bacon, eggs, burgers, etc) to distribute the heat, it's a 5-star unit.

This is the best small appliance I have purchased in a long time! I sold my George Forman grill in a yard sale, this griddle is so much fun to cook on and super easy to clean! The grease just pours off into the drip tray and makes delicious food. I made six large New York strip steaks on this, done to perfection! I fried an entire pound of crispy bacon and the fat just melted away...and best of all, it goes into the sink and gets really clean. I would'nt trade this for anything, I absolutely love the ease of cooking and the quick cleanup, it is well made and very much worth the money. Have fun in the kitchen again...buy this!!!

The incredible ease in using and cleaning this griddle makes it a kitchen must. I am not an appliance person but this griddle is a life-saver when it comes to cooking for a family or large group. It heats evenly and the whole things goes in the dishwasher for super easy cleaning. Yeah!!!!

This a very nice and easy to clean. One good thing, non-stick is really non-stick!!!!!!!

The grill surface was very spacious and truly non-stick. The heat was very even across the entire grill. Clean-up was a snap. The item stored easily in the drawer below our oven.

The Hamilton Beach 38510 StepSaver Jumbo Griddle lives up to it's name. It is Jumbo. Large enough to fry pancakes, eggs and bacon at the same time in turn saving steps. The griddle has an even temperature through-out the surface and keeps that temperature, even when I have 4 pancakes, 4 eggs and 4 slices of bacon on at the same time. It saves clean up too. All you need to do to clean is wipe off with a damp cloth. The only negative is storage because it is so big. Be careful not to scratch the nonstick surface when storing. Because of it's sizes I store it vertically nonstick side against the cabinet wall, problem solved. Over all it's a keeper and I give it a thumbs up!

This is a very good griddle for the price. I use it constantly. Easy to work and very easy to keep clean.
