i've been wanting to get back to being healthy and everyone knows the benefits of eating healthy esp. fruits and veggies. well, i make PURE FRUIT smoothies with this blender and dont use it for my baby, but for me. lol. unlike other single serving blenders out there, the top cover of this has no moving parts (unlike the travel single serving blenders out there) and is simple lid to allow easy washing. that sold me. i also like the sweet sunshine yellow of this blender and it doesnt take up space. the plastic containter is BPA free and yes, when you wash it, you wash the attached blade. the plastic is quite good quality, i must say unlike another 6-cup blender i bought in the past. it is easy to wash. the blender easily makes for more than one serving (i'd say a generous one serving, and an adequate double serving) of smoothie.

Cons:
You must chop your veggies/fruits before dumping in this blender b/c blades arent too powerful enough to liquify them quickly. Depending what you blend (i blend fruits like papaya, strawberries, etc), it would take about 7 or so pulses to creamate the fruits. so yes, i think more you cut your fruits, more long life for this blade. Anyway so far, it's doing well.

**update: it's now 9/10/12 and been using this almost everyday. it is holding up well. Washing this is a breeze if you do it immediately after making your smoothie: i just run running faucet water in the container, swish it around few times then pour it out. clean. Love that! The blades are not sharp so dont worry of hurting yourself if you have to insert your finger in the container. Again, you must pre-chop your fruits into about 1in x1 in before adding it to the blender to help hasten the blending process and help your blades 'live' longer. i am thinking the only machines that you wont need to pre-cut your fruits are those machines that cost over $300 like vita-mix but that's beyond me for now. LOL

I bought this item at Babies R Us. I have a Hamilton Beach blender that I have used for years, so I purchased this small blender for making baby food rather than purchasing the more expensive personal size blenders marketed specifically for baby food (i.e. Baby Bullet, Brezza, etc.) While it works ok for small batches (less than half the volume of the cup), if you fill the cup more than half way, the top portion never gets blended. You have to stop every few pulses to stir the contents to make it blend uniformly. And for some foods it whips it so fast it creates an air pocket around the blades to the point that its blending nothing at all and you have to shake the food down, bang it on the counter, or stir the contents to proceed. And it does smell and smoke if you hold down the button rather than always pulse. To puree baby food, I'm sorry, but it takes more than a few pulses to get the needed consistency. If I use only pulse, I'll be there all day. Not something I have time for since I have an infant. The cup is also hard to clean and remove all the food from it. There is always a good bit of food left around the bottom that I cannot get out. So that is wasted food and money. One last complaint...while the cup is dishwasher safe, because there are no drainage holes around the bottom, a good bit of dirty dishwater collects in the bottom, which you have to then empty and rinse out. Poor design flaws, if you ask me. I guess I'll just have to pull out my big blender, which I know blends and I can take apart to clean.

Bought this little blender for my 7-months baby. It really did what I expected. Small, powerful and easy to clean. I only used it for about one week and so far so good. I will update its status after several months

I received this blender a few days ago and am using it to make my protein shakes before/after the gym. I noticed a silght burning smell after I held the pulse button down for about 25 seconds so be careful not to burn the motor out. It blends great though, but I wouldnt throw too much ice in it, one or two cubes is more than sufficient. Overall I am happy with the product.

It is small and fits nicely in the cabinet . It bleeds everything without leaving chunks undone. it's fast and just big enough for what i need it for which is shakes for my diet. It blends the ice cubes as well and the fruit.

If you want it to work for you just follow the guidelines. It is not made for big and hard pieces. Otherwise works well

I have enjoyed this item! I use it daily to make my morning smoothies and have had no problems. As long as you actually pulse and not hold down the button it doesn't over heat the motor! I would recommend to anyone looking for a good item at a cheap price!

I gave it a 1 star just to get attention, as most people only read the negative reviews, when in fact I give it 5 stars!! Don't be discouraged when reading the negative reviews here because they probably didn't use it properly, i.e. too much ice and not enough liquid. It will not handle large chunks of ice, but neither did the Nutribullets at 150.00. Crushed ice is best and a minimal amount. That is all you need. I tried the Nutribullet 600 and 900 watt models, and although they are powerful and make great smoothies, they are 5 to 8 times more expensive than this little guy, which works just fine. Plus they have bad reviews of oil leaking from the blade assembly, the plastic tabs breaking, motor smells, inability to wash the gaskets properly resulting in a health hazard, and poor customer service when it does break. This little guy makes very little noise, so that you could use it early in the morning and not worry about waking others. It is all self contained, so you just take the drink container with you (stick in a straw) and off you go. Only one item to clean, it couldn't be easier. It also comes with a 1 year warranty. Heck, for 15 bucks, how can you go wrong. Try it! First add 6 to 8 ounces of liquid, then spinach or kale, a little crushed ice, partially frozen fruit or fresh, 1/2 banana, ground flax seeds, protein powder, yogurt, honey: any variation of those. It pulverizes it perfectly. Don't waste 100.00 or more on these Nutribullets or more expensive blenders just for single serve use. This is perfect. You will love it!! You need to experiment to get the right ratios. You do it right and it is the best single serve blender you can buy, and all for only 15 to 20 dollars. Try it!!
