5.0 out of 5 stars Soothie Maker
I am so happy with my Hamilton Beach Soothie Maker. I use it almost everyday. It is easy to use. I like the features of making a large (gallon size) smoothie for my family or make individual servings with the individual glasses. It is so versitile. The smoothie maker has a strong speed so it does not take long to make a smoothie. I love it, love it!! I recommend this...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Idea - Not so Hot on the Performance
When I saw this I thought the idea was really cool. I like to make protein shakes and mostly it is just for myself so the individual containers appealed to me. I paid $50 for the unit and when I first used it the rubber rings keep falling off the blade units. The capacity was fairly small and if I filled it over 3/4 full I had liquid everywhere. You have to make a...

Gave two of these as gifts and both got rave reviews from the users. Easy to order through Amazon and sent as a gift to another address.

This blender is great! I love that it has the two small cup option. You do have to read the instructions to seat the large pitcher properly but once you do, it's easy. I love the side dispeser valve feature. It is powerful and blends in seconds. I'm glad I got this model. After several months of researching replacing mine that I'd had for years, this was worth the wait because I am not at all disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for blending fruit smoothies! Best blender for the price!, June 17, 2011

I'm a big fan of green smoothies. I bought this at Wal-Mart for about 59.00. It's really good at blending fruit and greens together but the HUGE 80 oz. container is both good and bad. If you want a huge amount of smoothie it's great, if not you can use the smaller 2 16oz blend containers. But you can always put the large container in the fridge to keep the stuff cold for a few hours. I have not had any problem with this blender and have had it for 3 years. It does smell of smoke when you blend for more than a 3 minutes, but seriously why would you need to blend THAT long? I have thought about getting a Vitamix but I'm POOR and can't afford a 400-600 dollar blender. WHY do they cost so much? This is not an Emulcifyer blender, but the stuff does come out pretty smooth, it will not destroy seeds in cherries so you may have to strain seeds with a metal strainer but to me that's not THAT big of a deal.Cherry seeds are huge and you can buy a funnel strainer at Wal-Mart for 1.50.
* Blend in 80-Ounce pitcher, one 16-Ounce cup or both cups at once
* Blends a whole pitcher in less than 30 seconds
* Dual Wave-Action system eliminates ice chunks
* 1000 Watts of peak power
* Dishwasher safe
* Comes with a built in Tap on the side for daquiris!
1000 watts! That is almost as much as the Vitamix and blendtec blenders 1300-1500 watts. For the 59.00 price at Wal-Mart this blender kicks preverbial butt. Great for parties and individuals. Like I said I've used it for three years no problems! And if there is a problem take it back to Wal-Mart they will let you exchange it for a new one. Unlike the 400.00 brand Vitamixes which have crappy customer service where everything is YOUR fault. I give it a 5 rating because it's a workhorse and is pretty versatile. I wish they made this thing with a metal container they could sell that sucker for 200.00 easily. Well worth your 59.00!

I have only used this 3 times, but so far it works great. Great capacity for making frozen drinks.

All I've used is the big pitcher. The smaller cups look too small to be practical:) I like the 3 year factory warranty.

Bought this to make milkshakes and it works well. I normally use the individual cups because the big container is too hard to put in the machine to use. They should make it easier to use the bigger one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Idea - Not so Hot on the Performance, May 20, 2010

When I saw this I thought the idea was really cool. I like to make protein shakes and mostly it is just for myself so the individual containers appealed to me. I paid $50 for the unit and when I first used it the rubber rings keep falling off the blade units. The capacity was fairly small and if I filled it over 3/4 full I had liquid everywhere. You have to make a VERY large portion to use the large size container and for one or two people that was over kill. I found using the Bullet Blender for my individual shakes worked by far better and by far less mess. Overall the performance of this unit for me was very substandard. I am putting it on Craigslist since I didn't use it right away and I can't return it to the store. I think there are better options out there that are a lot less messier. My Kitchen Aid blender is better for the smoothies as my bullet blender. I think it is expensive for what it is and what it does. Now if you party a lot and want to make gallon sized party drinks it might be just the thing. But for everyday use, I would look for other options. The footprint on this is also pretty big compared to a normal blender and if you have limited counter space this could be a problem as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great blender, except . . ., July 10, 2010

Love the blending action! Powerful and not that noisy. Only complaint is that it is very tight when it comes to removing the large top from the base.

I was very excited about this thing because as you can see you can make smaller drinks or one large drink. We usually just make smoothies and milkshakes. Right out of the box we made chocolate peanut butter milkshakes. Initially I could smell the motor burning within less than a minute of blending. Besides that it was pretty cool, I took the blades off the bottom of the cups and put on the regular bottom so we could drink right out of the cup. So the next day I'm at work... and the boyfriend called saying that he couldn't get bottoms off to put the blades back on to make a smoothie. He's a pretty big strong guy. Both cups were like this. By time I got home he was able to get one of the bottom pieces off the cup. With the other cup, we both tried to twist the bottom off together... he held and twisted one way and I held and twisted another with no luck. So we will not be able to make smoothies with this cup. We are in the process of trying to get a refund. But we are still using it until we can make sure we get all of our money back. And with still using it, the motor still smells like its burning. Plus the boyfriend doesn't think it mixes well... he feels he has to stir it up too much to mix the top and the bottom. We pretty much hate this product.
