Hamilton Beach 52654 Blender/Food Processor Combo

I have used different brands of Blenders and Food Processors from various manufacturers in the past, but beleive me or not, this Blender/Food Processor is really the one I am looking for. It has a powerful motor that can easily break ice, plus the Blender jar is made of really thick, unbreakable material, unlike many other Glass Blender jars. One other feature I like about this combo is its wave action technology, which can continuously pull down the mixture in it and this system really works. The Food processor is large enough to chop/mix fruits and vegetables, and above all it saves a lots of space in my kitchen. I have read a lots of bad reviews from many people about other Combos like this, but I don't know what these people are exactly trying to do with a Blender/Food Processor.

I have used blenders in the kitchen for decades. Having left my blender on the wrong coast, I grabbed this to continue my cooking and blending. My first comment on this is that it works. Chops ice to liquid in no time. The chopper is nice. If you want to simply blend shakes or simply chop, this is a workable tool. I use it every single day.

Now let me say that I am usually happy with my kitchen tools and I am NOT happy with this blender. First there is no low speed on it. Even the lowest speed at low is too fast for some cooking jobs. It just hacks and spits.

The blender also has a tendency to spray contents at random moments on the lid, out of the lid if you peek, or out of the top, and if you go to add something while it blends, invariable that is when it launches the bulk of what is inside the blender into the air. It is quite annoying that it does this.

Having used a great number of blenders, I was not expecting that you could not use it to prepare things while it runs.

I do not really like the way the bottom is set up. The reverse lip on the bottom bothers me and has led to some leaking. It has to be screwed on hard.

The designers never washed a dish in their lives. The design of an implement that regularly is covered with food (as this one insures it will be by its performance) should be easy to clean with few crannies for food to get into. This blender is a mess and gets everything all over it and takes special care to clean well.

As I said. It works very well otherwise. I will give it away and get something else when I get the chance.

Great blender. One major problem was removing the blender jar's rubber gasket for cleaning. If was very hard to remove, unless you are an arm wrestler.The rubber gasket needs to be exactly in place before assembely or it will leak all over.

This has been my replacement for a blender combo whose glass jar I broke. Like the title says, I'm very happy with the blender aspect. So far I've pureed soups and blended smoothies with it. Like other combos, however, the food processor can't handle much. I tried to chop two small red bliss potatoes I had quartered and it was a waste of time. Wetter food like onions and tomatoes have been easier.

I am amazed at this product. My old blender was getting unreliable so I had been searching for a new one. I now live in an RV and space is limited. I use a lot of ice and one big mistake was gettimg rid of my Ice Crusher. I was now using a cloth bag and a hammer! Then put it in the blender to fix cold drinks. Now I can put everything into the blender at once and the ice is crushed up! The little food processor often comes in handy and what a joy it is to not have a big food processer taking up space. (Another thing that I got rid of!)
The shipment was prompt and the appliance was well packed.

I've enjoyed my blender and processor. I like the wave action of the blender, and the fact that the jar is made of plastic and not glass. The blender we bought right before this one, and returned within a couple weeks, broke when the ice hit the side. My blender before that fell off the sink and shattered, so I was tired of the glass. The only complaint is the really loud and sometimes ear piecing sound it makes when trying to blend ice and frozen fruit. Otherwise, it has been great. The processor has been good. I try to blend nuts to powder and it does a fairly decent job. It leaves a lot of bigger chunks, I just have to live with that our strain them out. The processor does NOT come with the shredding attachment that most processors come with, it only comes with the S-blade. The product was not expensive and has done what I needed, so I'm happy with it.

Frankly, I bought this item because it was dual purpose. A am very pleased with it and the detail that Hamilton Beach went to to make it practical and reliable. Very rugged construction in a attractive package.

There are better blenders than this. The food processor is only good for chop grate, and that only after you chop up the food yourself. Most of the buttons don't work and I have had this for almost 8 months. A little disappointing, but it does the job for smoothies and protien shakes which I make daily.

This was a replacement for an Osterizer that I never liked. The glass jar broke and a replacement jar was as much as this great combo. I really like the heavy duty plastic jar and the blending action. The food processor is just right for chopping nuts or onions - not too small - not too big. You won't use it to process large batches, but I use it for something everyday. It is everything I thought it would be. This Combo is well worth the price.

I love the versatility of this product. Fits great into my compact kitchen. I used expensive & "powerful" blenders before that did not work as well (especially in crushing ice) as this one does!! Nice Job Hamilton Beach!!
