This blender works very well, in my opinion. It doesn't usually completely obliterate ice, but it does a good job. If you run it long enough, however, I've found that there's no chunks of ice. And even if you don't, the chunks aren't that big of a deal to me. It's my first blender, and I like it a lot. There was a burning smell when I ran it the first few times, but my dad says that usually happens. I've only used it to make smoothies and it makes those wonderfully.

If you buy the one with the food processor (which I've also never had one of) the food processor isn't that great. I've found that I have to stop it often to put the food on the blades, and because of that it takes a very long time to puree anything. I've only tried very soft things (avocado, silken tofu), but they took a very long time to puree. The food processor overall is just awkward--to handle, to wash, to dry. It takes some getting used to.

Since this review is, on amazon, just for the blender I rated it a four. If it was for just the food processor I probably would've given a 2.5.

I've had it about 6 months now. I use it not every day, but maybe 2 - 3 times a week. I use frozen berries and bannanna in it with milk and yogurt. After about the 6th blend, the speed mechanism broke, so now it only has one speed (thankfully its a fast speed). Also, it's not very powerful, so if I want a fairly thick smoothie, I have to constantly turn it off and stir and then blend again...

But then again, I didn't pay that much for it. If I had it to do over I would have bought a more expensive one. If you plan on making smoothies several times a week, I would suggest a better blender. If you won't use it very often, or you won't be putting frozen fruit or ice in it, or you like your smoothies thin, then this will work ok.

The blender is just okay. Took awhile trying to make a shake and the noise is really loud. The food processor does not work very good at all. I couldnt even make the tomato blend into a salsa textures. Definitely not worth the money.

works fine. The only small issue is it may leak through the gasket if you don't tighten it hard.

This blender performs average and is extremely loud and obnoxious. It came with a food processor attachment that is essentially worthless. Food gets stuck to the sides of the bowl making it necessary to stop the machine and push everything back under the blades over and over again. My 30 year old Osterizer worked just as well.

This blender is just great, very fine puries are made off this one, the processor cuts finely too.. ! easy fits to use and wash !

I purchased Hamilton Beach 12 Speed Blender. The food processor attachment came only with the S-Blade attachement.
The second attachment,Reversible Slicer/Shredder disc/Disc shaft was not included in the package. The product should label clearly what is included, so the customer does not feel cheated. Although I offered to pay for it, calls made to Hamilton Beach did not result in a positive response. Amazon was kind enough to take the product back, but it was too late as I had already recycled the packaging material.

I was highly surprised with the design and upkeep of this blender. It's design makes it very easy to keep clean. The pitcher and cap clean very well by just rinsing with water. And when the pitcher & cap are put in the dishwasher they come out spotless. So far everything placed in the blender gets blender as expected. The food processor attachment that comes with it is small but surprisingly handy. The only negative is that when adding ingredients for some reason you get splash back that can surprise you and liquid gets around the base of the pitcher where the blades screw into the pitcher and you have to remove the blades to clean this area. I would highly recommend this blender to others. I am very satisfied with my purchase and the quality and performance of this kitchen appliance.

The blender works great for juices, soups, smoothies, milkshakes, and frozen mix drinks. Strong enough to break ice chunks (with convenient pulse button) and whip contents to a smooth mixture.

I don't use the food processor as often, but it has worked well each time I have use it. Makes for great salsas, curries, tomato sauces, pesto, fresh fruit yogurts, salad dressings, chopped nuts, etc.

Had mine for a few years (gets most use during summer months), and still going strong. There is a lot of parts to wash, but it does save space combining two appliances into one unit. Strong plastic body is resistant to hot and cold temperatures. Lots of variable speed modes to fit your needs in a blender and processor, all for under $50.
