Great Stand Mixer, Who Needs Attachments!,
By
This review is from: Hamilton Beach 63222CH 400-Watt Standmixer, Red (Kitchen)
My wife has been asking me to buy her a mixer for quite some time now, but I like to get good value for my money. When I saw this on Amazon, I jumped at it, as the price/power ratio was too great to pass up. As a guy, I'm all about the wattage baby. How much cement can I mix up in it. All kidding aside, this mixer has 400 HP, and their competitor only 250-325. Power means more cookie pushing torque! Let's start with the action. The mixer moves smoothly through its motions and hits every spot in the bowl. The dual movements are great because every spot in the bowl gets touched evenly and you don't have to scrape up your knuckles trying to push the cookie dough back down onto the beaters. The mixer is heavy and substantial. In my opinion, it's built heavier than the leading competitor, which is a good thing. You do not have to worry about it bouncing around on your counter at all. It's also a sexy looking machine. The curves are great, and I don't mind the fact that it doesn't have attachments at all. I looked through the list of Kitchenaid attachments, and aside from grating cheese, they don't do anything that I need. If you're looking for a powerful alternative to the Kitchenaid mixers, you cannot go wrong with this mixer. You will not be disappointed.

Great Stand Mixer Part 2 .......,
By A Customer
This review is from: Hamilton Beach 63222CH 400-Watt Standmixer, Red (Kitchen)
Let's just say I totally agree with the first reviewer of this product. I had been pricing Kitchen Aid stand mixers on Amazon for awhile, however I could never reconcile my desire for one, with the exorbitant price, even in the outlet or on sale, it still seemed too much, and for what, a name? Then I discovered the Hamiton Beach Ecclectrics line of stand mixers on Amazon and at last a viable alternative. The 5 available colors seem suitable to just about anyone's taste, whether you prefer a more traditonal color like white or gray, a modern neutral tone like ice and pineapple, or perhaps a bolder red color, which I opted for, myself. Like the first reviewer, I found this mixer gives you more watts for your money than it's competitor's model, 400 vs. 250, and comes with a 3 year No Hassle Replacement warranty, where as Kitchen Aid surprisingly only guarantees their craftmanship for a year. That should tell you a lot right there, that and the refurbished Kitchen Aid stand mixer section on Amazon. That being said, if you're in the market for a gorgeous, formidable, yet affordable, standmixer the Hamilton Beach 400-Watt Standmixer is by far your best choice.

Rather than buy the more expensive Kitchen Aid, I opted to buy this mixer because of the 400 watts power, the tilt back head, and the large bowl. Had I realized what a difference a fine quality tool can make in preparation tasks, it would have been in my kitchen years ago. A large Christmas pound cake recipe with fruit that last year took all my bowls to prepare and nearly killed my hand mixer was done in a jiffy with this mixer, and the kitchen was not declared a national distaster area this time. It also kneaded fondant, making mixing in the color tint and flavoring a 30 second job compared to the evenings I had spent previously preparing it by hand. The tilt option makes changing the mixing tools much easier. I highly recommend this reasonably priced mixer.

FANTASTIC PRODUCT!,

I purchased this Hamilton Beach mixer over the Kitchen Aid,(both products are already being used in my kitchen) because it was on sale for $129.00 with a 3 yr warranty. The Kitchen Aid mixer was $229.00 with a 1 yr warranty. Hamilton Beach was a much better buy for the same quality. Keep in mind when purchasing your mixer, whether or not you will REALLY need AND purchase all the bells and whistles that come on the Kitchen Aid! Also, what made it easier for me to decide was the beautiful PINEAPPLE color! It really looks more like a light lemon color than a pineapple color for anyone who loves the color yellow like me!

Thrilled with this mixer!!,

I snagged this particular color because it was about $30 less expensive than the other colors available at the time. A few days later, when I was checking on my order, I decided to go back to the item to read more about it. Come to find out, the price had been knocked down to $99!! I decided to email customer service to ask if they would credit me for the difference of price, and they did!! AMAZON RULES, BABY!! Since I have recieved this mixer, I have used it to make all sorts of cookies, scrambled eggs, meatloaf and even two loaves worth of my mother's Italian bread recipe. All have turned out beautifully. The only time I had a problem is when I was mixing the two loaves of bread dough at the same time. I did have to hold the mixer down because it was jumping all over the place, but I think that was my fault for trying to put so much dough in at once...lol. For the price I got it at though, I'm giving it five stars despite the cute lil' dance it did.....it has made my life easier and my time in the kitchen much more enjoyable.

What a great mixer!,

Like so many others that have reviewed this mixer, I had looked at Kitchen Aid stand mixers in the past, and could never bring myself to spend the money on one. When I saw this Hamilton Beach mixer with it's 400 Watts of power for such a resonable price, I jumped at it. I've owned it for three months now, and I love it. It handles heavy dough beautifully - the mixer did not jump around on the counter at all. The attachments are very easy to change, and the bowl comes in and out easily. I can see how there could be problems with the bowl if it is not started properly (think of stripping a screw because it was not started straight). As long as you are careful to line the bowl up when you lock it into place, I do not see this being a problem. The only downside I can see to this mixer is that there are not any additional attachments available as with the Kitchen Aid mixers. This is not an issue for casual cooks such as myself (this mixer does everything I could want!), but gourmet cooks may want to invest in the Kitchen Aid with it's many bells and whistles. All in all I love my mixer, and would buy it over a Kitchen Aid any day!

I love my new mixer.,

I just received my new mixer less than a week ago. I used it yesterday for the first time. I love it. My kids and I made gingerbread cookies and homemade pizza. This mixer is great. Very quiet and easy to use. It mixed the dough nicely. I love the quality of the mixer. I love the shape and design of the mixer, it's heavy so it doesn't go anywhere, and the attachments are easy to change and made to last. My other mixer I have is also a Hamilton Beach which is a lot smaller, I have had it for over 17 years, and it's still going strong. I know the name is reliable, and I would not go with any other brand. I know my family and I will enjoy our New Hamilton Beach mixer for many many years.

RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS MIXER!!!!,
By
This review is from: Hamilton Beach 63222GR 400-Watt Standmixer, Pineapple (Kitchen)
I purchased this yellow mixer at Kitchen Collection. I have a 5 qt KitchenAid but I thought this might be kinda fun because of the 400 watts. I WAS SO VERY WRONG!!! I tried to make a batch of bread...one loaf...and the mixer labored and bounced around on the counter. To top it off, it took 2 people to turn the bowl to remove it from the mixer. All I can say is RUN..RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS ONE. I love my KitchenAid...I am looking for more power...I think I may invest in a Viking. If you are going to buy anything...at least buy KitchenAid. This mixer gets the big THUMBS DOWN!! Unfortunately for me, it is past the 30 days so I cannot return it. I guess I will donate it to Goodwill!!!

I like everything about my Standmixer except that it is so heavy for me to move from pantry to countertop. But when I'm baking there is nothing better.

Do not buy, It won't last,

This review is from: Hamilton Beach 63222CH 400-Watt Standmixer, Red (Kitchen)
I bought this mixer as I really needed a stand mixer and could not afford the one I really wanted, and the 400 watt motor sounded great to me, I made 2 types of candy with it, no problem, when I went to make Peanut butter cookies with it, the motor started smoking and stinking, the Peanut butter cookies killed the motor. So being nice as I am, i just requested a replacement as I figured that It was a defective. Well, I sent that one back, and got the new one (model number and same color, red), and bingo, It died again, motor went out on peanut butter cookies, and my recipie is a soft dough, nothing tough about it at all, my small hand mixer has no problem with this dough. So I don't recommend this mixer for anyone. Stay Far Away!!
