Product Description

Amazon.com Review

As cute and efficient as a robot, this little electric can opener works on cans of any size. Just attach it and watch it walk around the can, slitting open the top as it goes, then stopping automatically when it's finished. A magnet grips the top of the can, then lifts it off when the can is removed. Cordless and rechargeable, the opener is small enough--only 3-3/4 inches in diameter--to store in a drawer, keeping the counter free of clutter. The AC adapter for recharging is included. --Fred Brack

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS OPENER IS UNCANNY!, November 10, 2001
This review is from: Hamilton Beach 76503 Walk 'N Cut Can Opener (Kitchen)
Yes, indeed, this Hamillton Beach can opener is uncanny in the strict dictionary definition - "extending to a degree beyond what is expected." It's better than I had anticipated in every way.

This Walk `n Cut opener is tiny but terrific - it fits your hand nicely or can be tucked into a drawer or a small spot on your shelf. We're now on our 20th can without a need for recharging. When that time comes, it plugs in for overnight recharging.

No more wrestling with elephant size juice cans or trying to manipulate minute shrimp cans, this rascal attaches itself to any can then walks, cuts, and turns off automatically.

Life is good; cooking is easy with the Walk `n Cut opener.

What a great concept. It's small enough to hide in a drawer off the counter. It is cute enough to leave out if you have room. Great idea for camping and picnics. It seems to hold a charge for a very long time so it is easy to take with you. With a little practice, I now use it with just one hand for fun. Clamp it on and watch it walk around the can and stop when its done. And if food gets on the blade, it comes off easily for washing. Only one hint is needed - it takes about 10 times before you get the hang of it. Not hard, just different.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good Idea but worthless, December 20, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Hamilton Beach 76503 Walk 'N Cut Can Opener (Kitchen)
I bought the can opener for my mother. She was so happy with it untill she tried to recharge it. It has not worked since. When I called to inquire about repair I was told I had only one place to mail it to and it would cost me more than a new one. Why would I ever want to spend more money on this. I thought I had bought a good gift for my mother who has a problem opening cans. I will get her a manual can opener.
