5.0 out of 5 stars THIS OPENER IS UNCANNY!
Yes, indeed, this Hamillton Beach can opener is uncanny in the strict dictionary definition - "extending to a degree beyond what is expected." It's better than I had anticipated in every way.

This Walk `n Cut opener is tiny but terrific - it fits your hand nicely or can be tucked into a drawer or a small spot on your shelf. We're now on our 20th can...

1.0 out of 5 stars Good Idea but worthless
I bought the can opener for my mother. She was so happy with it untill she tried to recharge it. It has not worked since. When I called to inquire about repair I was told I had only one place to mail it to and it would cost me more than a new one. Why would I ever want to spend more money on this. I thought I had bought a good gift for my mother who has a problem opening...

We're now on our 20th can without a need for recharging. When that time comes, it plugs in for overnight recharging.

No more wrestling with elephant size juice cans or trying to manipulate minute shrimp cans, this rascal attaches itself to any can then walks, cuts, and turns off automatically.

Life is good; cooking is easy with the Walk `n Cut opener.

5.0 out of 5 stars Space saving gadget, October 26, 2001

What a great concept. It's small enough to hide in a drawer off the counter. It is cute enough to leave out if you have room. Great idea for camping and picnics. It seems to hold a charge for a very long time so it is easy to take with you. With a little practice, I now use it with just one hand for fun. Clamp it on and watch it walk around the can and stop when its done. And if food gets on the blade, it comes off easily for washing. Only one hint is needed - it takes about 10 times before you get the hang of it. Not hard, just different.

2.0 out of 5 stars 1 charge and then it was gone....., April 22, 2002

This review is from: Hamilton Beach 76503 Walk 'N Cut Can Opener (Kitchen)
We were happy with this opener until the 1st time we tried to recharge it. Plugged it into the charger for 8 hours and when we tried to use it the following morning it only made it about 1 inch before giving out. Plugged it into the charger again for another 8-10 hours.....same results.

The good news is customer service was courteous and is going to replace it. I am a little apprehensive about getting the same model although c.s. said they have little trouble with this model.

We'll see about that.......

5.0 out of 5 stars Love It!!, May 5, 2006

I have had this can opener for about 5 years and have not had any problems with it operationally or otherwise. The charge lasts for an extremely long time before the next charge is necessary. The fact that you can open a can walk away and tend to something else is a great benefit. Its compact design is also a plus for smaller kitchens with little draw space. I would highly recommend this item and would purchase it again if necessary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, but had to learn how to use it., October 23, 2003
This review is from: Hamilton Beach 76503 Walk 'N Cut Can Opener (Kitchen)
I have had this can opener for nearly two years now, and I love it. I have given them as gifts to six of my relatives, and they love it too. Admittedly, it takes some practice to learn how to use it properly, but my wife and I mastered it by the third can we opened. We especially like being able to drain small cans as they are being opened. Also, unlike a corded can opener,we are not limited to useing it in one spot. We can use it at the counter, at the table, sink, stove,- where ever we want. Most of the negative reviews seem to have to do with recharging. The first time I tried to recharge it, it din't work. Then I realized I was not pushing the recharge plug far enough into the recharge recptacle on the can opener. Since then, I have had NO TROUBLE WHATSOEVER USEING AND RECHARGING THIS DEVICE. As I said, WE LOVE IT!!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars STAY WITH YOUR MANUAL CAN OPENER !!, November 1, 2002
By
This review is from: Hamilton Beach 76503 Walk 'N Cut Can Opener (Kitchen)
THE UNIT IS EXTREMELY AWKWARD TO USE. IT WOULD BE EASIER IF YOU HAD THREE HANDS. THE OPENER WAS NEVER ABUSED, I WAS THE ONLY USER SINCE MY FAMILY COULD NEVER GET IT TO WORK AND WOULD GO FOR THE MANUAL OPENER INSTEAD. THE ONE USE OF THE OPENER HAD WAS TO OPEN ONE CAN OF DOG FOOD A DAY. I CHARGED THE BATTERY FOR THE INITIAL USE AND ONE MORE RECHARGE. THE BATTERY IS GREAT, IT STILL HAS POWER AFTER THE SECOND CHARGE. THE UNIT CANNOT BE USED ANY MORE BECAUSE THE PLASTIC PIVOT APPARENTLY HAS WORN TO THE POINT THAT I COULD NOT GET THE BLADE INTO THE CAN WITHOUT THE PIVOT POPPING OUT OF THE OPENER'S BODY. I AM PRESENTLY WAITING FOR A GOOD TARGET TO THROW IT AT SINCE IT'S ABOUT THE SIZE OF BASEBALL.
