The "Hamilton Beach 80675 Permanent Gold Tone Filter" WORKS VERY NICELY in the "Hamilton Beach 47665 BrewStation Plus 12-Cup Automatic Drip Coffeemaker"!!!!!! : D

Please note - & I cannot stress this enough - it ONLY works well in the Hamilton Beach BrewStation ***PLUS*** models. It will be loose in the basket, shift around, & be forever uncentered in the cheaper version of the Hamilton Beach BrewStation the next grade down (models 47224, 47114, 47214, 47221, 47111, & the like) - which has a totally different basket & housing design than the BrewStation Plus models. Oddly enough, one of the NON-Plus BrewStation models IT DOES NOT FIT is actually pictured on the box for this filter & it erroneously states "Fits All BrewStation Coffeemakers" - but it *will NOT fit well at all* in that model, as people have already pointed out in disgust below, & rightly so.

I bought a permanent filter locally made by Mr. Coffee, & it fit the basket circumferance wise - but it stood too high to close the lid to the Hamilton Beach BrewStation PLUS. And where I live, it's the only permanent filter sold in town. So I returned it, & I ordered this model instead. And Wha-Laaa!!! The Hamilton Beach Permanent Filter 80675 works just as nice as a paper filter in the BrewStation PLUS. Maybe nicer, as the water seems to drain better. No wild overflows, & no messy coffee coated water distributer left in the wake of the brewing cycle. Just nice coffee.

It's too bad Hamilton Beach flubbed & pictured the wrong BrewStation model on the box to go with this filter - instead of one of the BrewStation PLUS models that it actually does fit. I'm not surprised to hear people who have the NON-Plus BrewStations are ticked. This filter, like the Mr. Coffee Permanent Filter, will not stay centered in the basket & will shift around loosely in a NON-Plus regular BrewStation basket by about a half inch. My guess is the water at times would completely miss this basket in these NON-Plus models & flow directly into the coffee tank. And I can see where it may perhaps even overflow in other brands that require a higher standing basket, like the Mr. Coffee Filter. This filter fits the Brewstation PLUS basket circumferance much more closely than it will fit in the regular (& more cheaply made) Hamilton Beach BrewStation. It fits so naturally in my BrewStation PLUS, & it's just become part of the appliance. The only giveaway that it's really an accessory is that it's brown, instead of black like the coffee machine.

If you have a Hamilton Beach BrewStation PLUS (& it has to be the PLUS version of the Brewstation, or you will be really unhappy with its performance & your brew) - I recommend giving this filter a shot.

I hope my "field work" helps people to avoid buying bad fitting filters, to leave soggy, ripping, spilling, dripping paper filters in the past where they belong, & to finally get their coffee. :)

For those curious about the "Hamilton Beach 47665 BrewStation Plus 12-Cup Automatic Drip Coffeemaker" performance, please see my other reviews.

Yours truly,

"Starbucks Rogers" : D

I have used a gold-tone filter for years so purchase for one to go with my new Brewstation Plus (Model 47686) was a "no brainer." Unfortunately, it was too tall to allow the lid on the brewstation to close properly. Yes, it's the Brewstation PLUS - the one that this filter is supposedly made to fit.

Rather than go through the "return this one and search for one that fits" hassle, I shaved the top of the filter down (exacto blade and a steady hand) until the coffeemaker top would close properly. It fits slightly loosely in the coffeemaker but that doesn't seem to be a problem (I was concerned that water might spill over the top during brewing and carry grounds out of the basket and into the coffee - it doesn't).

The filter gets five stars for performance but loses one since it didn't fit the way it was supposed to.

Bottom line: After the "modification" described, this coffeemaker-filter combination of filter makes great coffee.

Don't buy this product, because is not bigger then other filters that are sold at grocery stores. I first bougth one from a grocery store and I thought it was too small to fit right in the hamilton beach brewstation so I went and bot this product thinking it would fit better to my amazement it did not it was no biger then the filter I bought at the grocery store and I pay only 3.95 for the filter it was black and decker filter. I promise you will be mad when you get it cause you would think it would be custom made for the actual brewstation but is not.

Oh, and the water filter has to be change every one to three months don't bother buying it just used your personal water filter for the water. The only nice thing about the coffee filter is that it's color is golden. that's it. Don't buy it.

This review is from: Hamilton Beach 80675 Permanent Gold Tone Filter, 8 to 12-Cups (Kitchen)
Basket is to small for the coffee maker so it spills over and put grounds into the coffee. Would not buy again, this one is going to the Salvation Army.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why doesn't it fit as it should?!?, March 6, 2007
This review is from: Hamilton Beach 80675 Permanent Gold Tone Filter, 8 to 12-Cups (Kitchen)
We just bought a 47665 Brewstation Plus, and contrary to another revier's comments, this filter is too small. We also have an older/regular brewstation (47224), and the fit mismatch was even worse on that model. So I don't really know which Hamilton Beach coffeemaker this thing is designed to fit, but it certainly isn't the 47665 or 47224. We will be returning this item.

It says "Fits Brewstation", but it won't fit the deluxe model (47454). Way too small.

3.0 out of 5 stars Why the Sludge?, February 14, 2009

After noting the questions regarding what this filter actually fits, I was relieved to find that it does fit the Hamilton Beach Brew Station Plus. What does surprise me is that after using the filter I always have some coffee ground sludge in the bottom of the Brew Station reservoir---not a lot, but enough so that the last cup is nasty. This never happens with paper filters. The Gold Tone filter mesh seems adequately fine, so I don't understand this. So, it's a convenient alternative to paper filters, but in terms of coffee quality this filter is a step backward.

I had to return it for a refund (which is as easy as falling off a log at Amazon). They say it fits my coffee maker but it's too small. It has a half inch clearance around it when I put it in the coffee maker. I tried it and found coffee grounds in my coffee. My theory was the grounds would splash out around the edges and get into the coffee. Soo I put it in again and this time put a paper filter in first to catch anything that was coming through. Sure enough, the paper filter caught the grounds. I don't know how the manufacturer couldn't have known about this but... So I'm back to the paper filters now....and loving it.....

After using this filter for several weeks I have found that it is very easy to use and clean. No more fuse with paper filters. Just rinse and it's ready for use. I wish I'd gotten one years ago.

Fit my new Hamilton Beach coffee pot just right, and was easy to clean last night in-between pots of coffee. I love having a reusable filter instead of throwing them away with each pot!
