This mixer is very powerful and easy to use yet it is lighter and smaller than other stand mixers offering less power. It's not a beauty but an efficient work-horse.

...and built like a tank, the Hamilton Beach Commercial CPM500, unfortunately, is no longer available, being that the restaurant industry prefers the larger, 7-quart CPM700 for their needs, which is still available. This 5-quart model however is perfect for home use, as is the 7-quart as well. It's noisy, but only because of its all-metal construction; a good thing. I purchased mine brand-new only a few years ago, and just as they were being phased out. For the price, you'd be hard-pressed to find another its equal, let alone its superior. If I were you, and if you appreciate a high-quality stand mixer, buy the 7-quart that's still available, before it's phased out, or its manufacture moves to China like most everything else. You will NOT be disappointed. What are you waiting for?
