This review is from: Hamilton Beach E160BSS Coffee Bean Grinder (Misc.)
My Proctor Silex grinder still works fine after 6 years but part of the plastic ring around the blades broke off so it may die soon. I'm looking for a replacement and may purchase another brand if I can find one with reviews that meet my needs.
Pros: -- ALL the ground beans dump easily after grinding...no digging out of ground beans at the bottom of the bowl as is characteristic of the Braun and others based on reviews. -- The beans grind quickly and evenly -- The cord is housed in the unit for a neat counter Cons: -- The bowl is too small to easily hold enough beans for 12 cups. It has to be carefully piled over the bowl and the top put on carefully. There are usually beans on the counter and floor after filling. -- After grinding there is always some spillage of coffee grounds on the counter -- The top only fits one way causing more mess when trying to get it on over the mound of beans.

Perfect grinder,

Bought this grinder 10 years ago while I was in college. Survived moving from apartment to apartment half a dozen times and was used thousands of times. It is the perfect size, and filled to the top holds about the right amount of beans for one full pot. The cord winder on the bottom of the unit is brilliant; just twist the unit a few times and the cord winds right up. About a year ago the plastic piece in the center flew apart while using it, but the grinder had certainly served its time. I have a more expensive unit now, but only because I didn't know they still sold this one. It really is the perfect grinder.

Picked this product up for a Christmas gift and my mother loved it. Was able to use it within 15 minutes after unwrapping it. The blades are easy to clean and, although it's size isn't very big, it can handle a lot of beans. Grinds very well and haven't had any issues with it so far (about 1 month in). The wind-up cord is a very nice feature and with, a one push button, it's process is simple. Perfect for those mornings and days when you want a stronger coffee or the smooth taste of freshly ground coffee. Would buy again for any other family members or friends interested in grinders.
