4.0 out of 5 stars super snazzy smoothie machine!
well it's about time i found a blender that mixed up a "smooth" smoothie. forget all those fancy-schmancy 12 button/12 speed blenders. there's nothing better than a blender that offers only two speeds - fast and faster. i've gone through many a blender in my day and i must say that this one is the best by far! great style, great function and a great price. i'm...

1.0 out of 5 stars Brand new and only worked twice.
The blender burned up on the second time it was turned on. I have sent it back and hoping the new one will work much better. I will be letting you know.

I was first given one of these for my Coffee Shop, then I asked to borrow a second. I was making in excess of 150 drinks a night with these units, on Friday and Saturday nights. Never a problem with them. They kept up WELL. Made drinks in less than 45 seconds. Crushed ice faster than anything I've ever seen. The bottom of the pitcher (the plastic thing that screws to the bottom of the pitcher that holds the blade and washer) cracked from over tightening. Needs to be replaced. Cannot find one, so I came here to finally buy one for myself. The price is so reasonable, the heck with getting parts for the other one. You cannot go wrong with this unit. I had to return the other one to a friend, hated to do it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Professional?, July 15, 2001

This is a great blender for the price that you can get it for here on Amazon. It is very easy to clean the base unit. Professional is a little strong for its discription but I use it to make smoothies that invloves crushing a lot of ice and it works great. I priced simular units at the local stores and they were at least $... more. I highly recommend this for home use. I am ordering another one for my bar in the basement.

This blender is just ok. If you're making milkshakes or smoothies (minus ice) it works fine. Forget making any drink with crushed ice like a dacquiri or slushy. The ice ends up as 1/2" chunks. After suffering with this blender for a year, I just bought a KitchenAid Ultra Power. It is great!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, July 25, 2003

When I first pulled this out of my old dorm room supplies I was enthusiastic. It has a very nice, clean design. However, I was sorely disappointed when I tried to use it to make smothies with ice. It is VERY DIFFICULT TO GET IT TO CHOP ICE (it doesn't suck the ice to the bottom well). Go for something else. This model is inadequate. I'm looking for a new machine.

1.0 out of 5 stars Motor smoked on forth use., August 19, 2001
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Hamilton Beach E52210 Professional 2-Speed Stainless Steel Blender (Kitchen)
I got my new blender to replace the model that I've had for 25 years. It arrived on Friday and by Sunday the motor started to smoke (a lot!). Just 2 margaritas and 1 smoothy; by the 2nd smoothy- toast. Also at this point the motor rattled in the housing.

Luckily, my 25 year old was there to back me up. Only one of the 14 speeds still works, but it was able to take over while my new blender aired out on the back porch.

Very disapointed....

5.0 out of 5 stars Best College Blender in the World!, July 2, 2001
This review is from: Hamilton Beach E52210 Professional 2-Speed Stainless Steel Blender (Kitchen)
When one goes to college they should have three things: direction, an open mind, and this blender. The stainless steel body makes this blender stand out in any room and adds a certain sophistication to the decor. The two-speeds are all you should need for the first few years of the college life, by the first few years I refer to the margarita/daquiri years, any thing more is just pointless and way to showy for a dorm room. By owning a blender, any blender will do this just happens to be the best value around, you will gain instant status as "that guy" on your floor or building leading to one heck of a social atmosphere. Yes, college is a rough transition for everybody, but an appliance such as this will help to smooth-ie things over. (I hate puns as much as the next, but it fit so well.)
