Finaly an iron that lets me shut off the auto-off feature. I am a quilter & it is very frustrating to have an iron cold every time I need to press a seam. This iron gets it right.

What an iron! My wife absolutely love's this guy! My son even likes it. The stability stand allows you to put it down without worrying about it falling over. I have found as long as you pour the water out after you use it, it never give you those water stains other irons have given us. It's weight is perfect and it leaves absolutely no wrinkles in your clothes. Like I originally said, what an Iron. Would recommend to anyone! Deserves 10 stars!

I go through irons like they're toothbrushes. One of the reasons I total my irons is that they fall off the ironing table quite frequently when I sit them on the skinny end of the table when I shuffle fabric yardage or quilt tops. I also bump the table when hanging hangers on the edge of the table. The built-In Stability foot makes the iron center of gravity much lower and makes the iron enormously less likely to be bumped off the table. I don't care to use the Stability foot when doing regular clothes ironing and such but for quilting or for storing the iron out in the open the Stability foot is great.

This iron has a switch to allow you to choose between auto-shut off or iron stays on; that's a great option to have if you do both regular clothes ironing and quilting, crafting, etc.

The iron irons beautifully pesky wrinkly cottons. The handle is comfortable and the iron is fairly well balanced. The cord is much longer than any other irons I've had which I really love when I use the far away tip end of the board. I've bought my share of irons and this one is one of my favorites.

The only little negative this iron has in my opinion is the tip is not very pointy for opening quilting seam allowances, for example.

Though the iron is sound, I keep turning the temperature Control from Wool to Cotton (higher temp) almost everytime. The other issue is that the iron is easily to tilt over and fall off due to the stability is very narrow. I just used 3 times and each time I used I dropped the iron and now is broken. I am not sure if there is any warranty because of accident. I will attempt to contact the company but thought I should write my concern.

I wanted to add that Hamilton Beach was kind enough to send me a replacement. Nice company to purchase the product even though it was my clumsiness. Thanks

What a great iron! I looked and looked for something that didn't have auto shut-off after only 10 minutes of inactivity. Finally found this one where we have the OPTION of auto shut-off. Thank YOU, Hamilton Beach! I am a quilter and it is SO annoying to return to a cold iron and have to wait for it to heat up! The weight of this iron was refreshing, too. Sometimes I have to press HARD with the lightweight irons. This one glides across very nicely and has enough weight to make it work. I just pressed 36 seams, WOF, STRAIGHT and hardly any flipping. Quilters will know what I mean. Very nice. AND, I couldn't find anywhere where it said it, so I'll tell those who want to know. That "smart lift" is optional. We don't HAVE to use it. The iron sits up nicely without it. I never used it and I'm not sure I ever will. And, really, why is it there?

I read the reviews and thought this was the iron for me. It's actually just ok. The vertical steam doesn't steam as much as I would like it to. One review mentioned the rounded front instead of a point being somewhat of an issue for her. That is also an issue for me. Maybe it's just what I'm used to, but the next iron will definitely need to be more pointed. The smart lift is a good idea but it makes a loud noise so I really don't use it. Everything else works fine and it's a good iron for the price, but I had higher expectations.

This iron was highly rated so I ordered it. After using it for almost a year, I realized that the reason the stand was catching on what I was ironing was because the bar was not straight and did not fit flush with the iron plate when folded up. The iron has not been dropped or misused, it is just defective. Hamilton Beach requires that you pay to ship both ways for repair or replacement, which makes it pointless to have it repaired. Also, the iron spits water while it is in steam mode, leaving water spots on your clothes. I do not recommend this iron.
