This little blender is a work horse. I purchased it as a gift for my daughter and she is a smoothie junkie. She loves it. No complaints, works great. I have a much more expensive blender and this does a better job than the one I have. Would buy it for sure when my blender wears out.

I had a mid-range Cuisinart blender for about 6 years and I was frustrated with it's inability to blend my daily morning smoothies well. I use a good amount of frozen mixed berries in my smoothies and the Cuisinart was really weak. I replaced it with this Hamilton Beach model and this thing ROCKS! It's super powerful and quieter and I love it.

I spent a lot of time researching the best reviewed blenders in the under $100 price range and thought this would be the one to replace my inexpensive but trusty 2004 Hamilton Beach 350 watt blender, which recently died, but I was wrong.

I make a relatively thick smoothie every morning, consisting of 6oz aloe vera juice, 4 oz almond milk, a handful of mixed greens, and small amounts of: flax seeds, raw almonds, protein powder, green powder, olive oil, hemp oil, coconut oil, cinnamon, and a few other things. Somehow, my trusty white Hamilton Beach 350 watt blender from the mid 2000s was able to tackle the job with ease every time until it finally burned out a few days ago.

I researched and researched and there were mixed reviews about just about every blender except the Vitamix, which I love, but am not ready to spend $450 for a new one. Then I came across the initial positive reviews on the Hamilton Beach Wave Power Plus Blender. I took a chance on this model, but it failed in every way unfortunately. Initially I think I was misled because there have only been 15 reviews on this newer product. Pros & Cons:

Pros:
-Sleek stainless design, looks good on counter top and doesn't sit too high.

-Glass Container

Cons:
-Did not blend everything even close to fine. After 45 seconds on high, the smoothie looked done, but I poured out the contents and there were large chunks of greens, almonds, and flax seeds still at the bottom.

-Loud - Why did some previous reviewers say this was quiet? That was one of the main selling points for me. It was no quieter than my old blender, and was still somewhat piercingly loud.

-Pour Spout top - In theory this would be great, but after putting on the top, the rubber breathing hole flap across from the spout would not close (it's a thin rubber flap that you push down when blending and open to relieve pressure when taking off the top). When I hit blend, drips of the mix slowly shot out of the top unless I held that flap down, it wouldn't stay by itself. In fairness, I may have gotten a lemon top, because it only stayed down once after I opened it from the box, but that flap is really flimsy.

-The plastic stability ring is thin and I'll bet it will break/crack in the near future.

I am sorry to have to review this product negatively, I don't take reviews lightly and this is one of my only reviews on Amazon, because it's not really my thing. I am a well informed, tech savy consumer and I usually get these things right from the reviews. I felt it was necessary to tell about my experience so that the market is well informed. Happy searching!

For the price, I am blown away. This blender works wonderfully. For once, I don't have to pull out a spoon and mix mid-blend, or push the pulse button over and over again to get the ingredients on the top blended in. The shape of the blade pulls down on one side and pushes up on the other. The blender calls this a wave~action system. Everything is literally sucked to the bottom. Kudos to the engineers. The lid stays on tightly, if you want to walk away while your smoothie is blending, not that you need to- it's pretty fast. There is a pour spout on the lid and the jar is made of glass. It is easy to clean, quiet, fast, has cord storage, easy to use and in summary I absolutely love it!

I bought this primarily because the jar is glass, but I really like it because of the pour spout on top - so handy, and that they note on the lowest setting that you can use that to 'easy clean' it! I just squeeze a little dish soap in it with some water, and let it whirl! Does most of the cleaning work for me, which is fantastic when i'm cutting it close in the morning before work! As I've used it, I wish the jar was a little bigger for when I make blended soups, but I just bought an immersion blender for that, which really works well (for soups and other stuff too!)

I've used this blender almost daily for the past several months. Pretty much every morning, I have a "green smoothie" for breakfast, a blend of almond milk, spinach, fruit, and ice. After consistent use, the blender still works as well as it did the first time I used it. While I think a more powerful blender could get smoother results (I sometimes have a bit of unblended ice or some texture from the spinach), for the price you can't beat the performance. I couldn't justify spending hundreds of dollars on a blender, so this one was a compromise I am actually very happy with. Whether I'm making one of my smoothies, milkshakes for the kids, or any other recipe, I'm always please with this blender.

I bought this unit because I saw a professional version being used in a smoothie shop - they seemed happy with it and the wave action seemed to have some merit.

Turns out the wave action is no better than the standard blender - no better, no worse. The lid was very tight-fitting and had a dinky little spout with a loose-fitting flap, which seemed a particularly pointless way of compromising the lid. The motor was loud and it seemed to be laboring under light loads, which was troubling, but when it stopped working after six smoothies, I decided to make no further concessions to poor design. I threw it in the trash and resolved to write it up on Amazon in the hope this particular species of blender dies the death it so richly deserves.

If there are any blender manufacturers out there reading this: There are so many design flaws in the range of blenders under $50 that it amounts to a real commercial opportunity:

Speed-torque control and overload protection
Capacitive touch interface that can be wiped clean
Seal washer bonded to blades
Pusher stick to feed blades
etc.

I wanted this blender to make wine slushies and it worked great! The ice was chopped fine and very easy to use. Have used it several times and it works very nice. Not cumbersome and not a lot of buttons and extra stuff I don't need. Works wonderful for what I wanted! If you want something simple and easy don't hesitate. Carolyn

I've made smoothies, frozen drinks, shakes and blended sauces so far. Best one I could find under $40. I love the wide pour spout and how super easy it is to clean. It takes a few seconds for the ingredients to start to blend though but nothing a good shake doesn't fix to get it moving...lol. So far very happy :)

The motor gave out after just second use. Love the look of the blender and the wave power, but just doesn't hold up. Since it was opened and still under warranty I am dealing with Hamilton Beach to get a replacement. Still haven't received.
