I have owned this watch for a month and am delighted with it. The movement is accurate and the watch has a refined, clean look. The strap takes about a week or so to wear in and become comfortable. The size of the watch face is perfect and comfortably fits my wrist under my shirt cuffs.

From the research that I did prior to buying the watch the 2824-2 movement is made by ETA which is a subsidiary of Swatch Watch Co. This movement is used in high-end watches like Omega. The case finish, view of the movement and leather strap are well crafted.

Overall I am as statisfied with this watch as with my Longines which was four times the price. It is a great looking watch and I am very pleased with my purchase.

I choose this watch for my graduation, and I was looking ofr the right one for a very long time. The reason I stayed with this bacause I heard a lot of good things of Hamilton watches.
The watch is very beautiful, I was amazed how nice it looks. It is not heavy at all, the leather strap has a brownish tint. The back of the watch is also very beautiful, it is wonderful to see the the movement running. The size of the case (40 mm) is also comfortable, it is not big, not to small.
I really recommend this watch to people, who don't like fancy, but want to have a very elegant time piece for and everday or formal use.

I bought this watch for my birthday having not bought one in 10 years. While I like the features of the Casio Pathfinder watches they are huge and cannot be worn under French cuffs. Not that it would look good if one could,

Hamilton makes a great automatic watch in the Jazzmaster and the look is elegant with a price that is not pretentious.

You won't need to boast over this watch like you would if you purchased a Tag or similarly overpriced timepieces.

You will get compliments and this particular model is fine at work, at play, or in the evenings.

But I probably won't take it on ski or camping trips,

This is an exceptional classic men's watch. It looks great with anything. Very accurate, nice size face with swiss automatic movement. Band was a little tight at first but loosens with time. Best thing about this ---no batteries.........

I waited six months before reviewing this watch because I knew that "autos" (Automatics) usually require a break-in period. I'm glad that I did. This watch has met all of my needs and then some. I have another auto watch, a Marcello C Nettuno 3, that uses the same Swiss made ETA 2824-2 movement that this Hamilton does. While the Marcello C watch is more rugged, it's a divers watch rated at 300m water resistance and costs more than twice what this one does (here on Amazon), it also doesn't keep as accurate a time as the Hamilton. My Nettuno 3 runs slow, losing about a minute every week. This Hamilton runs fast, gaining about a minute every month - so you can see the difference. Personally I'd rather be slightly early for an appointment than late. Now while the craftsmanship of this watch is not quite up to my Marcello C (It's been compared by other watch aficionado's to a Rolex Submariner), it is still quite good. I haven't noticed any flaws or had any problems with it. Actually the only flaw I've found is with the band - to stiff, seems rather cheaply made. I changed the band almost immediately.

I recommend this watch to anyone who wants a more basic looking, good quality, well made "Auto" that keeps good time. I rated this watch four stars but would have gone with four and a half - I never rate anything five stars. I haven't found the "perfect" product yet!

This is a very nice addition to my watch collection. I have always been reluctant to add any automatic (mechanical) watches to my collection due to accuracy issues, plus the added inconvenience and cost of getting a watch winder. I now have both and must say that I am very happy with both purchases. My particular watch gains approximately 6 seconds per day (not great but also not bad), and certainly within specs for the grade of ETA 2824-2 movement used in this watch. Anyone interested in watch movements (also called tractors), just look up Swiss ETA Movements online, there is a wealth of information explaining the different types and grades. As always, buying either directly or indirectly from Amazon's website was a pleasant experience. My purchase came via Certified Watch Store. The packaging and Watch came in pristine condition, with all factory labels and tags attached. I would make them my first choice the next time.

This really is a classic looking watch at a reasonable price. Hamilton goes back over 160 years and they became very popular in the 50s and 60s. It maintains that timeless look. I only wish three things were different about it.
1) Would be nice if it held a longer charge from the winding. It currently holds around 2-3 days.
2) Should be thinner. It's around average to slightly thinner for automatics in this price range, but still would be nice if it were thinner.
3) Should have roman numerals.

The time is accurate and the hands are easy to read against the black background. It does have those glow in the dark hands and tick marks, but they match the hands so well, it's difficult to tell its on the hands, so it doesn't detract from the look of the watch. The date feature is easy to read and this has the classic type band, not the other tang type, where the center is connected by a metal piece. This is a great valued watch being a Swiss watch, but also since it uses the ETA 2824 movement, which is actually used in some IWC watches.
To be honest, I actually liked the look of Hamilton Men's H38715731 Timeless Class Black Dial Watch slightly more, but it is 11 mm, which is 3 more than this watch. This watch is already thick enough. 11 mm is too thick for me and it is harder to fit under shirts.
If I could change anything about it, I would make it thinner.
I actually have the more expensive Baume & Mercier Men's 8462 Classima Automatic Strap Watch, but this watch is slightly thinner and easier to read. The problem with the B&M is that the fourth hand makes it hard to read at a quick glance. I would choose this Hamilton over that one. I had Gucci Men's YA126209 Gucci Timeless Watch, but found it to be too bulky, gaudy, and heavy.

This is a great watch that blends casual and dress together very well. Swiss eta movement is top notch in this price range.

Waited two months before reviewing. The longer I have this watch, the more I like it. Classic american design of style dictated by function.

When first purchased, watch was fast by 25 seconds per 24 hours, after two months, it is within 3 seconds per 24 hours.

Great watch.

I bought this watch in my business trip to USA as my 3rd watches.
I received this in time and with a very beautiful craftsmanship.
Only one thing that needs to consider is the brand name. In Vietnam, Hamilton is not popular and can not find the place to buy and replace the parts.
