The watch i purchased 3 months ago stopped working. i didn't expect this from a $1500 watch sold by Amazon. If i were using it it won't be a big deal, but it was a special present. I am sad to say that Amazon spoiled this situation.
I now think that it could be a fake product because the serial number was not in the database of Hamilton. Although i had doubts when purchasing it i was assured by Amazon jewelry department that this item was original. However an original item should not break after 3 months!
It is unbelievable Amazon!! I am 110% disappointed...

Wow what a master piece, big sport watch I love it, not too heavy not too light and the price is perfect, the movement has all the qualities of the 7750 movement. And maybe even something more ...some other brands used this movement as well: Edox ocean drive, Conord, Longines, Maurice lacroix and so on . The Hamilton Railroad watch is not only designed to display the time, but also to express the personality of the wearer
I'm going to enjoy this watch. Hope this help any buyers out there P:S Amazon has the best price

The Hamilton Rail Road Black Chronograph oozes style and masculinity in a subtle yet striking manner. What brings about these characteristics is the mono chromatic minimalistic styling of the watch face, combined with just the right amount of `bling' to capture attention.

The watch is not overly heavy (compared to my stainless steel Longines) however it is solid enough to know you are wearing a serious piece of watchmaking mastery. I particularly like the `wobble' you occasionally feel when the movement spins. There is no need for me to outline the chronograph movement of the Rail Road as anyone genuinely considering purchasing this watch should already be aware of what is inside through research.

It can be difficult to view the time in low light due to styling, however with the illuminating tips at each end of each hand ensure this is not a significant criticism.

    PLEASE NOTE:
If you are planning to wear this watch with a long sleaved business/casual shirt, it is more often than not difficult for the sleeve to fit over the watch due to its height/size.

Overall I am VERY happy with this purchase. Hamilton is a brand which is not available in Australia, and I took a big risk purchasing this watch without putting it on my wrist first. I didn't have to wait long for it to arrive either!

Having lived in Lancaster PA where Hamilton started, I've been a lover of these watches for over 20 years. This was my 5th Hamilton and I think my favorite. Those of you who have Jazzmasters will find them as a good reference point. The CRA-Chrono is basically a Jazz master on Steroids. The face itself is 46mm over the JM's 44mm, add in the crown and pushers and you're at about 48mm!! It's hugh!!! However, while it is very large it remains an elegant watch. Because of the classic design elements and features, it comes off as sporty and elegant instead of large and ostentatious. As with all Hamilton you get a lot of bang for the buck, great quality and construction. Highly recommended. Buy one if you can because they are hard to find, plus the prices on Amazon are great, at Tourneau in NYC they were asking over $2200.

This watch is substantial and striking, without being gaudy. I love the way it looks and the weight on my wrist.

This watch is beautiful! The packaging from Amazon was good, no damage to the watch box. This is my second automatic watch, and so I did some research about the movement (ETA A07.211) which is based off of the popular Valjoux 7750. The main difference in this movement is the size is larger to allow for use in larger watches. And this is a pretty big watch at 46mm, From what I have read about the 7750, one of the most enjoyed attributes is the way the movement of the router feels on the wrist; this is an attribute that seems to have carried well into the A07.211. The leather band is has a nice feel and is of good quality. Also, the quick release clasp is fantastic.

The all black look is at once sporty and classy; which I anticipate will lend well to versatility. The only negative comment I had read about the watch is that the gunmetal finish on the markings makes the watch difficult to read. I have to admit in lower light situations it is difficult to read the numbers, but generally I just glance at the hand position anyway. Also, I read a comment on a forum that the chrono buttons are stiff. While there is a very satisfying click when engaging and resetting the chrono, I would not say they are stiff.

    Anyway, hope this helps.
