Product Description

The Hamilton story is a 120-year road that meanders from Lancaster in the United States to Biel, Switzerland, the world capital of watchmaking. Today, Hamilton is known worldwide thanks to its pioneering role in the worlds of aviation, cinema, as well as electric and digital technology. Hamilton watches have singular shapes that exhibit a perfect pairing of personality and design, which combine American spirit with Swiss ingenuity.

Hamilton was founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Its first collection of pocket watches, the Broadway Limited, was known as "The Watch of Railroad Accuracy."

In 1914, Hamilton was further thrust onto the national scene when it was chosen to be the official watch supplier of the U.S. Armed Forces. In the late teens and early '20s, pioneer pilots of the era trusted the Hamilton brand for its precision and accuracy and it became the official watch of many airlines in the 1930s.

Hamilton watches could be seen on the silver screen throughout the '60s and '70s, most notably a Hamilton Ventura was worn by Elvis Presley in the film, Blue Hawaii.

Today, Hamilton watches are synonymous with iconic style, as they continue to grace our lives through some of our favorite movies. Hamilton watches can be seen in such films as Men In Black, Lethal Weapon 4, Fight Club, and Independence Day.

I think it's an excellent watch to wear on casual occasions or as an everyday watch.

I bought this watch for work. I do physical work with a lot of hazards. I wanted this watch to be durable and not to big and bulky. And this watch dose that very well. When I first got this watch I was hesitant to use it as a work watch. Because it is a nice watch with a very nice finish to it. But the watch looks and feels tough enough. It has a very robust textile bracelet. The crystal both front and back are very durable. And after over a month of wearing this watch it has only gotten a little dirty (no scratch). The crystal has a crisp and clear look to them. The front is domed and shows some reflection. But not enough to hinder viewing even the second hand. I haven't had any problems with this watch going dead on me. But it dose run a little fast. To keep it to the minute I have to reset it once a week. I really like this watch. It doesn't get noticed much since it is a black on black watch. But if any one dose take a closer look at it they will see that is has tight movement alone with nice fit and finish.

This is an absolutely beautiful watch. The PVD coating is the most flawless execution of this finish I've ever seen. There is none of that brown tinge that I've seen on most PVD coated watches. It's all matte black under all lighting conditions.

The watch is extremely light on the wrist and the band took no time to break in even though the supplied strap wasn't really to my preference. I put this on a couple of different NATO straps with PVD buckles, dark Khaki, OD Green and Black for everyday wear. All three look really nice but the color contrast with the Khaki and OD really set the watch apart. Will be adding a matte black leather strap to the collection for dressier occasions.

The watch has luminous hands and the second hand has a luminous tip which is a feature not present on most Hamilton's. The watch face has luminous numbers with luminous pips above each hour. The luminosity in the numbers and hands remain visible in complete darkness for about 2 hours. It is a really easy watch to read at a glance. Some people don't care for the placement of the date window as it cuts into the 3 o'clock numeral and it offsets the 1500 hour marking. I personally like this as it adds to the utilitarian look and feel of the watch face when you look at it.

This is my first foray into the world of nicer watches. Couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. I fell in love with this watch from photos posted throughout the web. I ordered without seeing one real time and it's more beautiful than it looks in any of the photographs viewed. It's a classic watch with a modern twist, and in my opinion, was flawlessly executed. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a watch that will fit in with any except the most formal of occasions.

This might be the greatest bargain in world of automatic watches. It is beautiful in its simplicity, and it has the same movement found in watches costing twice as much or more.

Great looking (rugged but not overwrought), Swiss automatic movement, well-built, reasonably priced (on Amazon) and (drum roll)...it keeps time very accurately.

If pushed to find a negative with this watch I could only fault the somewhat reflective nature of the crystal. Depending on viewing angle you can get some glare. This is truly a minor issue. Otherwise, it is really nice.

While I own other Swiss automatics (considerably more expensive ones) I remain very impressed with what Hamilton offers in this watch at this price point.

I haven't had the watch long, but I love it. Its materials make it very comfortable to wear and it keeps excellent time. The automatic movement is accurate without any significant lag so far. If you are looking for something to wear on a daily basis, and don't want all the flash, this is THE watch.

The watch itself is absolutely fantastic, the packaging was superior and it looks great. My only complaint is the band is soooo small, it is an absolute chore putting it on every morning. I feel like I am literally playing with about 1/8-1/4 inch of free space to insert the double prong latches into and since you are using one hand it is tough. The kicker, if you mess with the band you void the warranty on the watch. I am a pretty big guy, 6'3" and not small boned and fairly large wrists. On somebody smaller, 5 stars all the way.
