5.0 out of 5 stars Been Waiting For This One..., December 5, 2002

This was always one of my favorite albums to listen to growing up in the 70's. After years of wear & tear I stopped playing it. Thank God for reissues. This CD sounds great and brings back all those memories of past days. So many good songs, not only - Don't Pull Your Love, but - Annabella (should have been a hit), What Can You Say, and my favorite - Sweet Pain. With Dan and Joe Frank on vocals and those steel drums of Tommy Reynolds, this CD still delivers. I felt very fortunate to have heard and met Dan & Joe when they played around Los Angeles in the early 90's and have them autograph my album. And thanks to Tom for the autograph all the way from Florida. Don't miss this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth Every Penny!, June 5, 2010

I purchased the 2 for 1 CD with "HJF&R/Hallway Symphany" on a different label earlier this year thinking I was getting a good deal. I was wrong. The sound quality was unlistenable, which is a crime since this is one of the best pop albums of the 70's. I defy anyone to put this disc on and not sing along with EVERY song!! I finally resolved that, my love of this LP, was great enough to justify the Japanese import pressing price. I cannot relay to you the HUGE audio difference heard on the Japanese pressing vs. the cheap tape-recorder-to-speaker sound offered in the 2 for 1 pressing of "HJF&R/Hallway Symphany". Bass separation, drums, vibes, congas, guitars are all mixed great. There's no muddy mix that frequently occurs with reissues of older titles.

In addition to giving you the AM classic "Don't Pull Your Love Out", this disc offers 10 more equally, in my opinion, great pop songs. Awesome harmonies, a great back-up band and remastering job totally justifies the hefty price tag. Is HJF&R a guilty pleasure? You bet! Do I care? Not at all.
