Handsome watch and great value for an automatic.

The strap is a beautiful brown leather, that at least in my case seems very durable and is not showing any signs of wear.

And of course, the numerals aren't lumed either but that's the trade-in for having shiny, sparkly numbers..

Saw this watch in the display case and thought it was ok.. was going to pass it up until a friend convinced me to try it on. Still looked kinda blah. Saw that there was a clear protective film on the crystal, which I asked to be removed.. and wow, I'm glad i did. Jaws were hitting the floor.

It's been about a month now and I'm still in the honeymoon phase. Let's get to it:

    Pros:
-Large, raised, steel minute indicators. As a grown man I should be able to tell what each hands read without needing any sort of markers at all.. But somehow having the minutes marked out makes it that much faster to tell time to the minute a bit quicker. The material used looks like brushed steel, which is central to the design of this particular watch; I was absolutely dazzled by the light coming off those digits.
-Clever skeletonizing of the hands. Tip of the hour hand allows for the hours to be read along the printed inner dial (and also the date when at 3o'clock). Minute hand skeletonization allows visibility of the day-of-week when over the 3o'clock, and also allows view of the lume of the hour hand when they overlap (see uploaded pics). Very, very neat.
-Cute little arrowhead tip of the seconds hand.
-ETA 2436-2 movement. Similar to the ubiquitous workhorse, the 2428, the difference being the addition the day-of-week complication.
-Domed sapphire crystal. Adds depth to the face of the watch when viewing at an angle, which I tried to show in one of the uploaded pics. Never once had a problem with readability.
-You can entertain the kids with the exhibition back. See pics.
-Screwdown crown AND protective shoulders. No way you're gonna change that date/time by accident.
-Can be hand wound to jumpstart the ticking.

This review is for a Hamilton Khaki Pilot Automatic Black Dial Men's Watch - H64715535. This aviator styled watch features a 46mm stainless steel case, 200m water resistance, screw down protected crown, sapphire crystal, window back, fine brown leather strap and a swiss automatic movement with day, date, and hour, minute and second hands.

This is my second Hamilton watch and as with the first, I'm very pleased with it. It combines simple, traditional design and materials, with quality movement and construction. in a great looking package at a reasonable cost.

The black face has an outer ring of greenish white one minute hash marks that are moderately luminous. Just inside that are large Arabic numerated minute designations in 5 minute increments from 5-55 with a large inverted triangle at the 0/60 position. These are highly polished metal and can appear as anything from very subdued grey that blends in with the black face to brilliant silver in high contrast with the black face depending on how the light hits them (they are not luminous). Inside that are traditional Arabic numbered hour indicators with large half hour hash marks and smaller 1/8th hour hash marks (these are all fairly fine and in simple white and not luminous). There are day and date windows at the 3:00 position with simple black charters or numbers on a white background (not luminous). The hour and minute hands are skeletonized with highly polished metal but with highly luminous greenish white solid portions. The hour hand has a cutout that keeps the hour and day indicators visible. The minute hand has a cutout that keeps the day visible. The second hand is highly polished metal (but not luminous).

Handsome watch and great value for an automatic. Works great after one week and seems to have gained about a second or two in that time. Delivery was a day early with amazon prime. The band seems fine and looks good with the watch. The crown was a little hard to manipulate but that might be more my digital dexterity.

I also have a Victorinox divers watch I bought from Amazon last year for more rugged activity so I'm ready to keep time on land, sea and air in nice style.

This is a very high quality time piece. Not only is it very well designed, it's also accurate and made of top notch materials. I have absolutely no regrets about buying this time piece. It's a great addition to my collection and i love that it even seems better than some of my other pieces costing thousands more. Okay, I don't really love that. Makes me have a bit of buyer's remorse comparing it, but what I'm really trying to say is that if you like the looks of this watch you should just get it. The leather band hasn't given me a bit of trouble. Some have complained about it being low quality, but that is not the case. It's a solid piece at a small cost.
