24-7 from business suit to diving suit.Over 30 hrs reserve, ETA swiss automatic, screw-down crown and back, convex saphire window, beautifully complicated day-date display, stunning untapered bracelet, a stupid bargain for anything less than $1,000. HAMILTON i s horology's unknown miracle, a la MIDO (a snob's silencer), but for an even nicer price. Have had this piece for six months, looks new after inclement daily use, stays precise at less than a minute (fast) a month, well within the swiss official-certification parameters for superlative chronometers.

I've wanted one of these for a while. It is well-made and keeps great time. I can't imagine getting an automatic movement watch for less money, or one that keeps time so well.

I received this watch as a gift a few days ago. I love the design and appearance of the watch. It's generally a 'diver' design, but isn't a submariner clone. It has it's own style. I love the complicated layout of the dial. The exhibition case back is a plus for me. It's the largest and heaviest watch I've ever owned, and it took a day or two to get used to that, but I've adjusted now.
I'm always amused by the reviews of mechanical automatic watches that complain they aren't very accurate. The point of one of these watches isn't accuracy. A $25 Timex quartz watch is much more accurate. The point is the amazing engineering and art of an automatic watch, and an appreciation of the precision workmanship required for the device. If that doesn't impress you, and you're goal is precision, get a battery operated quartz, or one of the seiko kinetics or citizen eco-drive quartz watch. There's some really nice choices there. But if you're interested in a horologically interesting automatic, Hamilton offers a very nice design here, and at a very competitive price.
