Product Description

Features rock solid Hardwood Construction that is standard to fine Tennessee hill country furniture. And now with its new quick set up design we can share this chair with the rest of the world instead of just keeping them down here in the deep south! This is a Hearty rocking chair that is as comfortable indoor as outdoor! Just give it a little covering like a porch roof and it will love you to death! This rocker may bring you back to a simpler time, when lives were shared while rocking in front of the general store. Store fronts in the old south were places where friends gathered for a game of checkers, to chat about the days events or simply watch the day go by. This rocker was crafted using original designs that date back to 1834. We have painstakingly designed this chair to set up in just 18 minutes or so and be solid like a rock.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful heirloom quality rocker, February 20, 2006
This review is from: Hamilton Traditional Style Solid OakWhite Rocking Chair (Kitchen)
I purchased another rocker from the same company (GCM) for a relative and loved it so much I had to buy one for myself! I love the quality craftsmanship of my beautiful rocking chair. Delivery was as indicated and wonderful customer service again. Thanks GCM!

1.0 out of 5 stars DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!, March 31, 2009
This review is from: Hamilton Traditional Style Solid OakWhite Rocking Chair (Kitchen)
I never give bad reviews but this product warrants it. Solid Oak? I don't think so. Almost every part of this rocker is made of laminated smaller pieces of "oak" that come apart when exposed to the smallest amounr of rain - and I'm talking drizzle. I assembled the rocker using the included screws and pre-drilled screw holes (two of which were drilled too large to make the screw tight so I had to rummage through my garage for larger diameter ones). One of the rocker feet split at a joint while assembling it with a hand screwdriver so there must've been a hairline crack that wasn't perceptable at the time of unpacking. And after spending an evening on my covered front porch, the small amount of drizzle which landed on the rocker overnight was enough to make the white "paint" flake from the tops of the spindles and split the seat frame and main support post.

The other thing that really buggedf me was the shape of the top spindles was not the same as the one in this picture. They were straight with domed tops, a bit cheaper looking than the finial style shown in the photo. Obviously this chair was made by the lowest bidder somewhere overseas.

Repeated emails received no response regarding the problems. So please don't make the same mistake I did. Do not buy this rocker.
