Taste is very, very mild.

Since using the Heed, I have much better energy throughout 2+ hour rides, and have a better recovery than using the other products.

It's true a very little bit of it doesn't dissolve but I just give the bottle a shake, take a drink then keep on biking.

HEED is an electrolyte replacement drink, in the same category as Gatorade and Powerade. However, HEED uses mainly complex carbs, rather than simple sugars like most competitive products. I find this makes it easy to digest with no stomach issues.

It also has a more complete electrolyte profile than many competitive products, which are heavy on sodium and have little to none of the other electrolytes.

The first several times I used HEED I did not like the taste at all. Now that I am accustomed to it, I like it fine. So if you are used to sugary drinks, expect an adjustment period for the taste.

It comes in several flavors. As with everything, try it in training. I think you'll find it is something you want to use for racing, too, if you race.

After searching and trying for a sports/electrolyte drink that works best with me, I finally settled on Heed after trying almost all of them. It works exactly as advertised by Hammer products. I find that, perhaps most importantly, the lactate buffers work. muscle burn, and cramps just don't occur any longer when using Heed and I ride hard. I also like the fact that it is a complex carb. and not just a simple sugar.
I find the flavors to be very light, not obnoxious, and are a non-issue with all of them. It's true a very little bit of it doesn't dissolve but I just give the bottle a shake, take a drink then keep on biking. I also found that recovery is MUCH quicker and better. I'm an endurance long time / long mileage rider and this is the drink I'm staying with. Highly recommended.

Will not dissolve completely, have tried mixing it in warm, room temp
and cold water. not sure what component of the ingredients is not dissolving, but I feel I am not getting my moneys worth.

Heed is not advertised like Gatorade and such, so you don't hear much about it. But that doesn't mean it's because Heed is a bad product. This stuff is healthier than gatorade and more potent (as far as clean energy). The taste is subtle, and the drink doesn't fill you up. I drink one 16oz Heed for each long run I have (runs of 7+ miles). These is a noticeable difference in my energy levels with and without the Heed. My favorite flavors are Mandarin and Melon. The Strawberry is a bit too strong for my liking. The price is solid considering a 20oz gatorade is anywhere from $1.00-$2.00 in stores.

This product gets 5/5 for serious runners/trainers.

I run ultra marathons and find the bigger branded drinks too sweet and sickening. This product provides me with a little taste and contains the minerals needed to keep the body in good condition during longer endurance events. It is not as heavily marketed as Gatorade or other larger brands so you may not see it on shelves except for running stores or online. Powder mixes in easily with water and a quick stir or shake.

I take it on long bike rides, or long runs. It works great, since I don't really feel tire nor out of energy during my workouts. I'm very pleased with the product, and it tastes great.

I am in my early 30s and have recently begun to train for competitive races. A few months ago, I was having an issue with dehydration while on my weekly runs, most notably dry mouth that set in around the three or four mile mark. I did some research on a solution, and decided to take a chance on the HEED powder. I noticed a big difference right away, and ever since I started using it the dry mouth problems have gone away, and my recovery post-run is much better.

Here is how I use HEED on run days:

- Approximately 30-45 minutes before my run, I drink a small glass of water with a teaspoon on HEED.
- Right before I begin my run, I take a few sips from my water bottle (2-4 oz), which has the recommended full scoop of HEED powder. I will also occasionally mix a bit of pineapple juice with the water and HEED powder. (This has nothing to do with the taste of the powder, but more of a personal preference).
- Once I complete my run, I drink about 12-14 oz of the HEED mix for recovery.

As for taste, it doesn't taste bad, but it's not a bowl of fruit salad either. It's easy to drink and doesn't leave a nasty after taste. I really don't notice the taste anymore. If you run hard or have hydration issues, I would seriously recommend giving this product a try.

I bought this product because I was hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up the 20+ mile pace for long. Using this product along with Hammer's Perpetuem I was able to hike 21, 23, 24, 25, 22, 26, etc. miles per day consecutively without running out of energy or feeling ill effects the next morning. I will continue to use Hammer's great products.
