Some may think I'm silly for giving this song five stars, but I have my reasons: I've never heard anyone do such a remarkable impression of what it would sound like if Cookie Monster were in the music-making business, and I have to applaud Chris Barnes for being able to growl so low! I always thought Max from Sepultura was a growler - was I wrong! And I have to applaud the band for the powerful, fast, crunching rhythms. If you are a true metal fan as well as musician, you will like this song. I also have to give it another star because it doesn't screw the world up, as a fellow reviewer said, as does other music that promotes murder, drugs and gangs. Anyone who can't appreciate this band's musicianship and ability to create such diverse rhythms, such as a non-musician or anti-metal type, has no business reviewing this song, or treading the grounds of metal music. Honestly you have to be a musician as well as metal fan to understand why I've rated this song so well. Keep up the good work Cannibal Corpse! Long live metal!

Every once in far too long, the cosmos is blessed by the introduction of a group of musicians so Earthshatteringly brilliant, that all the angels in Heaven lay down their harps, to marvel that even god could create something so beautiful. This CD captures the essence of everything that is right. Purer than a mountain spring, and more beautiful than the morning dew on the petals of a crimson rose.
This band has the ability to convey the most complicated and nameless of emotions. From the smallest child to the pope himself, everyone can relate to these eloquent lyrics. The complex melodies and harmonies are matched only by Cradle of Filth. This is Cannibal Corpse at their finest hour. If I could only have one CD, it would be this.

The first time I heard Cannibal Corpse, I immediately dismissed the band 'cause of the horrible vocals. I kept listening, mostly for comedic value, and it slowly grew on me. The guitar as we can all mostly agree on is fantastic, and the vocals are just something you gotta get used to. All three songs on this EP are awesome pieces of art. Just listen with an open mind.

I went and saw Cannibal Corpse at the Sounds of the Underground tour. When Fisher told everyone to 'start slamming', hammer smashed face kicked in and I got punched three times. It was wayyyyy worth it. Hammer smashed face is freakin awesome

Pivitol release partly marking the beginning of Death Metal as a genre. Unsurpassed brutality, speed and aggression.

"Hammer Smashed Face" by Cannibal Corpse is by far the most coolest song produced within the entire genre of Death Metal. The main riff is excellent, and the extensive pounding of death metal heaviness inflicted by metal distortion, and Chris Barnes' gravely growling voice will give you instant goosebumps from the beggining till the end. Though I dont actually own the cd myself, (i cannot find it anywhere), I have hered it before and it is definitally a must for any death metal fan, and is essential for all cannibal corpse fans. Dont miss this extraordinary cd, and to all the CC fans, be sure you make it an addition to your collection. It's a must!!

This is for that one dude who gave this a 1 star rating...how can u say this isnt music? This rocks way harder then what you listen to(probally like cold play and green day)...so just leave the people who like this music alone. If you dont like it then dont review cause Cannibal Corpse deserves respect for all they've did for death metal.

The is one of my favorite Cannibal Corpse releases. I bought it sometime in 1994. This was accually the first CD I ever bought and it's a good way to start a CD collection. Definitely an important geme.

Now for my review. This is not another studio album from the band. This is a special release by the band possibly because of their short appearance in the movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective featuring Jim Carry. On another hand, it could be to celebrate the appearance in the movie. To anyone who has ever seen the movie, just flip to that scene where Ace enters the club and sees that strange band playing. This is Cannibal Corpse.

Now back to my review. This EP is basically a release of 3 songs. The first song is Hammer Smashed Face from Tomb Of The Mutilated. The second song is a cover of The Exorcist by legenday 80's thrash metal band and death metal forefathers Possessed. This version of the song is more death metal and in the Cannibal Corpse style while the original is more thrash metal. If you want to hear the original version, you can find it on Possessed's first album Seven Churches. The album has been re-issued and remastered and is avialible here at Amazon.com, FYE, Tower Records and any store that sells extreme metal. So get a copy of it because it's a true important classic geme. And finally, the last song here is a cover of Zero The Hero by the legenday Black Sabbath. This version sounds heavier than the original. If you want to hear the original, just get the Black Sabbath album Born Again which features Ian Gillian from Deep Purple. So all in all, this is a great edition to your Cannibal Corpse collection. Buy it and preapre for a stuffing. Enjoy the trauma.
