To Refute An Earlier Review...,
By GreyGhost83 (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Hammering Process (Audio CD)
I enjoyed an earlier review which accused LS of "ripping off" music from other bands such as Sepultura and Meshuggah. In fact, it was stated that the latter "kills this pathetic chritian band just by turning their amps on."
I do find this somewhat funny, and not just the spelling error. The true, no spin, facts regarding LS are this: they are an original, talented and mostly under-rated harcore/metal band. While criticism could be in order in some areas, stating that they "rippped off" from another band is simply false. Usually, when the accuser makes statements like this it reflects an insecurity with hardcore/metal that carries a Christian overtone or message. It's true--LS does not objectify women, promote gruesome viloence or endorse hedonism. However, in the world of solid, hard-rocking metal LS has few equals. If you want some of the best hardcore/metal around, simply buy LS's "Reborn," "Hammering Process," and "Conceived in Fire." However if you're looking for a good laugh, check out the earlier review...it's great birdcage liner.

great album...great band,
This review is from: The Hammering Process (Audio CD)
i remember first hearing their stuff and immediately turning away from it. their nonexistant and inhabit were definitely my least favorite. i won't say they sucked because people do like that. its just not my taste. but reborn was good. and this is better. they expanded their musical...whatever they have...beyond boundaries most bands haven't even seen. i really can't say anything bad about this album. i just think its funny that the guy was saying they are trying to rip off meshuggah. but i don't understand....don't you have to sound like the band your ripping off? besides...who would want to rip off meshuggah?? their drummer is good but.... yeah... get this album. i spent about 17 dollars on it and i don't regret a cent of it. at all.

mmmm Crunchy,

this is the second 2 last LS cd. There is a lot of stacato-ness in the songs (crunchy) which gives it a very percussive and pummeling sound (hence the name "hammering process). Think of it as a transition from CIF and reborn. it has more chanting (non growled vocals than any of their other cds. this an very original cd from a very original band. i do not like this cd quite as much as CIF or reborn but it is extrememly good and worthwhile to buy
