There is Nothing Wrong about Relaxing,
By
This review is from: Hammock Bliss Single Portable Hammock (Sports)
My husband experienced hammock envy on a recent camping trip in the Black Hills of SD. After some net surfing I found a great deal on Amazon.com for a Hammock Bliss. I figured I couldn't lose on a deal like that. In using it at home, I found it to be more comfortable than our rope style hammock. The amount of material is strong and generous. I can almost wrap myself up like a mummy to keep the flying nasties off of me. Recently, I tried it camping. Looking for the right trees was the hardest part. But, it worked well without the use of tree straps thanks to the strong cords. My only difficulty with HB was getting out of it. Chalk that up to maybe age and weight. However, I used my canoe paddle as a stretcher bar and was able to gracefully eject myself out of the Bliss. Basic three word summary, PORTable, COMFORTable and AFFORDable.

I have had this hammock for 7 years now and have slept in it dozens of times in dozens of places. I weigh 240 so I know it can stand up to big guys, it has some stains from tree sap and such, but no real damage or splitting. I have had to replace the end ropes because I cut them after my knot pulled tight all night long and I couldn't get it loose. I like that this is JUST the hammock, as the tarp-hammock-bug net systems are much less compact and not as modular. I keep a mosquito head net and separate tarp for times when they are necessary. I recommend the tree straps and a heavy carabiner on each end to make put up and take down easier. It's time to buy a second for my son, I think I'm going to hand me down this one and get the double size for myself.

Awesome Backpacking Hammock,
This review is from: Hammock Bliss Single Portable Hammock (Sports)
I used this hammock on my last backpacking adventure to Puerto Rico. I can honestly say I am never going to sleep in a tent again! This was much more comfortable, and felt about 10 degrees cooler than being in a tent. It is lightweight, and packs down so small it made my backpack feel huge!
I also used the hammock bliss tree straps, with some carabiners that I got off of amazon. Set up took about 1-2 minutes. I loved how the straps didn't cut into the tree bark at all! Ideal for no trace camping. I felt like I could set up my hammock anywhere depending on how many times I wrapped the straps around. I didn't use a bug net, and didn't notice that I got any more bites than I would in a tent, perhaps because I was in a sleeping bag. I also didn't use a rain fly, but when it would rain I would fold the side of the hammock over me. I do think next time I would hang a tarp over the hammock or buy the rain fly. The hammock does dry out very quickly when it gets wet. I did notice that because the material is not breathable it was a lot hotter than being in a canvas or rope hammock. This can be a pro or a con-- during the hot days I found myself dangling my arms and legs over the side trying to catch a breeze, but at night it kept me warmer, and drier than my friends in canvas hammocks. It is also a great fabric for not imprinting your flesh with unattractive patterns. I want to buy the triple hammock bliss next! Definately would buy this again.

I am a heavier sort of fellow, but still wanted a light hammock. I looked around for a long time, but most light hammocks have a weight limit around 215 lbs. When I finally found this, I was skeptical but I bought it anyway. As soon as I tried it I knew it was the perfect buy. Extremely comfortable, durable, and light as can be!
