Good recipe ideas, October 30, 2010
This review is from: A Hamper of Recipes from Jamaica (Paperback)
I have had this book for quite a few years now, given to me by my mother. Good basic recipes but quite a few typographical(wording and pagination relative to indexing)and measurement errors. An update would be good. My favourite recipe is the carrot cake but I really belive that the volume of oil stated is way too much. I have tried recipe as is but ..... I have since tried to reduce oil volume with much better results. Although cake still comes out a bit greasy the taste is still great. May have to try an alternative oil as the corn oil seems to be too "heavy". It would also be nice to have some worldwide measuremnts included either with indivdual recipes or in an appendix as I live in the UK (using kg and ml)and measurements in book appear to be American (mainly using cups, which differs in different countries and may affect results).
