A fun blast into the past,
By Jesse (Connecticut, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hampsterdance Hits (Audio CD)
If you want to know what Hampton was like in the past, now's your chance. With 6 songs and 2 videos, this CD is a great collection for hampster lovers. And the album cover with a parody of the Beetles is a nice touch. Let us break down the songs:1. The Hampsterdance Song - This was the song that Hampton and the Hampsters are best known for. Very fun indeed! The instrumental part is really rocking and everything fits in nicely. There are rap parts, but they aren't bad at all. And either way I think Hampton is the best rapper around. 2. Thank God I'm a Country Boy - The lyrics flow nicely, and the rhyming is exceptional here. Unfortunatly the melody stays the same and it can get dull after awhile. Since it's only 2:45 that's no big deal anyway. A cute song overall. 3. Hampster Party - This is a great rock song! The progression is nice and the key change from the verse to the chorus is a nice touch. There are also DJ sounds integrated into the song which are kind of funny. 4. Dance to the Music - This is a fun energetic song where each hampster takes a solo with their instrument. The breakdown with the doodoo's is cool too. Also there are some pretty sweet drum rolls. 5. The Hampsterdance Song (Extended Mix) - The same as the original song except there is an extra intro tagged onto the beginning. This intro is pretty good, but nothing more. 6. The Hampsterdance Song (Club Mix) - This is an odd one. It has almost nothing to do with the original song, rather it is its own tune. It follows a 1-4-5 progression the whole time, which can get kind of dull after awhile. However there is a lot going on here. The muffled dedodedo's make Hampton sound like he's drowning. And for the videos: The Hampsterdance Song - The video is cool, with Hampton and the Hampsters flying around the globe and dancing for everyone. It doesn't exactly pay respect to what's going on in the music, but it's still fun to watch. The artwork is kind of old so it isn't as great. Thank God I'm a Country Boy - Again, the artwork here is old, if not older than the other video. It's mostly goofing off, with farmers and animals dancing with the Hampsters.

I'll have to get this back from my kids someday.,
This review is from: Hampsterdance Hits (Audio CD)
My children have a new favorite cd. This is great to listen to in the car and on the MP3 player. It will make you smile. My kids put this on and run around in circles. Its great to help get their energy out right before bed.
My wife originally asked why there were only 6 songs on the disk. But it is just right. Any less you would feel like you weren't getting your money's worth. Any more and you would go insane.
