My wife and I recently spent the day at Hampton Court Palace while visiting London. Not having prepared well for the overwhelming beauty and history we experienced, I decided to order a book to compliment my visit! This "official illustrated history" was a magnificent read with stunning photography! I highly recommend a visit to Hampton Court Palace but the next best thing is to purchase this wonderful book!! I give it a standing ovation!

This book is very informative, I like the early sketches of the palace and how it shows you (in color) how it was when the Cardinal owned it; how King Henry and Queen Elizabeth updated it and present day. It's a shame William and Mary had half of the old Tudor palace torn down but there's enough left of the early period to get an idea how grand it was in Henry's time.
