Place bacon press in right after you put in your bacon in a greaseless pan. Make sure to drain grease after cooking bacon. Never place a cold glass bacon press into hot grease or it will crack.

This is a great idea for a bacon/sandwich press. The problem; it doesn't last over one month and will break. I didn't even use it but a few times. I handled mine very carefully and was shocked when it cracked while frying bacon. The idea is great, just needs to be MUCH better quality. Even for this reasonable price, I thought it would last longer. Will never order another one -- not this brand anyway.

After reading both the pro and con about this glass bacon press, I decided to give it a try. The price was right and I liked the ability to see the bacon doneness as it was cooking. I am happy with my decision. This is a great press. It fits my 9 inch fry pan just right. After cooking I drain the fat into a stove top container and put the press back in the fry pan and set aside to cool. If I make more bacon, it is ready to go. I allow the press and pan to cool or heat together. I have had absolutely no problem with the glass cracking or breading. As with any non-tempered glass, you have to excercise care not to put a cold glass on hot grease of a hot glass into cold water. Again for the price this is an amazing bacon cooking tool.

I wish I could rate it with no stars. Please don't waste your money on this product. As soon as I put it together, it cracked. I know when metal meets glass it will crack but I didn't get a chance to tighen the knob. This is a piece of junk. Stay away and invest in a heavy duty press.

I jumped on this deal when it went on sale for dirt cheap. Now I know why it was dirt cheap. The first time I used this press it shattered in the pan. Huge disappointment. You get what you pay for.

This glass bacon press keeps the bacon flat and lets you see how it is cooking. It is easy to clean and makes for much less spatter.

I bought 3 of these...1 for myself and the other two for my daughter and daughter-in-law...It worked great, and I was really happy after looking for months for one I thought was what I wanted. But it just broke after about a dozen uses. Not sure if I should get another one or keep looking. Other people with reviews stated that theirs broke also.

I have a habit of cooking my bacon too fast so it doesn't lay flat. This item help a lot but I do have to say it took two for me. I did a dumb thing with the first one and put it in the hot bacon grease and since it is glass and was cool it cracked. I've been cooking long enough to know not to do a dumb thing like that. Do you put raw bacon onto a hot fry pan than act shocked that you got splattered with grease? I see someone put a review on this item that does need help cooking bacon. Start cold with pan, bacon and press. On the next batch of bacon pour off the extra grease. I recommend buying a grease can. The bacon press will still be hot so you can set it back on the bacon and pan no breaking happening.
