4.0 out of 5 stars An easy solution
I actually bought this product for 1/2 the price at a Walgreens.
I have an extra wide door and it fit fine and the door functions properly.
I live in a condo complex so there is a major gap under the door and there is no heat provided in the winter for the hallways so I thought this might be a good way to go. It was worth a try. I will actually get a second...

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap yey effective
Two pieces of round foam in sewn fabric
If I could sew I would have done it myself.
The fabric will break down from wear from opening and closing the door.
Does it do the job? Yes. Could it have been made better? Yes
The fabric is not durable. It will probably break down before it gets warmer.
And yes I'll probably replace it with another...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money!, March 31, 2009
This review is from: Hampton Direct Twin Draft Guard Window/Door Insulating Device with Over-the-Door Hook, Brown, 2-Pack (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought two sets of these for my exterior doors. They only work on 1 of my doors. If you have any sort of raised threshold this WILL NOT work! It gets stuck when you try to shut the door and it will not shut. You also have to constantly adjust the draft guard so it will be perfectly placed or the guard will not allow the door to close!

Very easy to put together and use. It's not perfect but it's better than a new door!

This product is rediculous it doesn't stay on the door when you close and open it. You have to hold it and fight with it each time you move the door. I put it on a door we don't use during the cold months and that worked out better. I would not have ordered them if I had know how they really work--they are a complete waste of money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected, January 9, 2010

First of all, this item will not work on any kind of door that has a raised threshhold. This eliminates most entry doorways. It will not work on any door that swings over carpet, this eliminates many interior doorways. The round foam pieces are not as thick as they appear in the advertising or the pictures, thus they will smash down and slip under many doors unless the door has a very low clearance. The fabric material is very thin and if you could get one of these to work on a door that opens frequently, the fabric would soon wear out.

This one is in the pile of stuff I have set aside for the next yard sale.

2.0 out of 5 stars probably not worth it, March 26, 2009
This review is from: Hampton Direct Twin Draft Guard Window/Door Insulating Device with Over-the-Door Hook, Brown, 2-Pack (Tools & Home Improvement)
The product didn't work with my front door, but I decided to keep it and put it on other interior doors to keep AC\Heat from going into rooms I wasn't using during the day.

1.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy, Messy, Unfit for Advertised Purpose, February 1, 2010

This review is from: Hampton Direct Twin Draft Guard Window/Door Insulating Device with Over-the-Door Hook, Brown, 2-Pack (Tools & Home Improvement)
Reasons I regret purchasing the Hampton Direct Twin Draft Guard:
1. Flimsy: I bought the draft guard as a temporary fix and to experiment with cutting down the heating bill. I had low expectations regarding the durability of this product based on other reviews I read, but the draft guard was still worse than expected. The draft guard comes in 7 pieces: 1 cloth casing,4 foam pieces, 2 "connectors" for the foam pieces. The cloth case has two pockets - one to hold the two pieces of foam that sit on each side of the door. The foam that goes into the pockets is actually two pieces that connect with a plastic tube. The pieces become disjointed easily when you open and close the door because the extra fabric of the case bunches up. It is hard to explain, but you end up with a floppy foam rod on each end of the door.
2. Messy: The draft guard does not sit tight against the door as it looks in the picture. I have standard doors and there is half an inch gap between the door and the foam rod on either side of the door. It looks like I shoved some leftover fabric against the bottom of the door.
3. Unfit for advertised purpose: Another consequence of the extra fabric is that it starts bunching up and often starts to roll under the door when you are opening the door! This is not only annoying, but it has actually jammed the door a few times to the point that I could not open the door without reaching around to yank the guard out from underneath the door.

Honestly I would only recommend this product for an indoor door that you rarely use. For example, the room to a door that you keep shut off from the rest of the house when you are trying to cut down your heating bill.

1.0 out of 5 stars USELESS...DOESN'T WORK!, January 8, 2010
This review is from: Hampton Direct Twin Draft Guard Window/Door Insulating Device with Over-the-Door Hook, Brown, 2-Pack (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this from the website after seeing on television, because I really wanted this item. Styrofoam inserts into fabric sleeves...the commercial/video shows attaching it by sliding it on from the end of the open door (it does not actually attach to the door), then shows people opening and closing the door. If you look closely all of those pictures are of doors on smooth wood surfaces, and the door is FLUSH all the way to the bottom of the floor. In reality, doors have a lip (about 1 inch) from the bottom of the door to your floor or carpet. After you put this draft guard in place and HOLD IT FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR to get the door closed, as soon as you open the door again it falls out of place, just enough to jam the doorway so you cannot close the door again without readjusting inside and outside of the draft guard, from the bottom of your door. NOT USABLE AT ALL!!! Also, I received the "free" ($[...] value) over the door hanger, and it does not fit over any of the doors in my home (I was charged $[...] and they only want to refund the [...] for the actual product--I pay for the "handling" and for the return shipping; to end up with nothing would still cost about $[...].

After just three days of use it has more or less become useless. The foam tubes are not sitting in the fabric right and it constantly gets tangled up when the door is used. Take my word for it and keep searching, I know I will.

This "draft guard" is way overpriced. This product should sell for less than one dollar. It is poorly made and works poorly. It should never be used on an outside door. A towel or blanket will work better as a draft guard. No one should buy this product.
