The set is really beautiful but even though it says dishwasher safe, I've found rust spots after only 1 washing.

I have actually owned this flatware for about two years now, and wanted to give a review of the product over time. I loved the flatware when first purchased, and I still love it. It wears wonderfully, no noticeable scratching or damage whatsoever. The set is very stylish, and I always receive compliments on it when I entertain. I would recommend this quality flatware to others. I would also recommend purchasing more than one set.

I received a set of Hampton Forge Bamboo flatware for my wedding from Target and this set is different. It is thinner and the shapes of the spoons are a little different. When I got my order I returned it a few days later and bought something else from a local store.

I should have listened to the negative reviews, but I didn't. Don't make the same mistake I did. If you don't mind thin flatware, buy this product. I didn't want to waste my money on flatware that would rust after washing in the dishwasher. If you like the bamboo design, pick up the one from Target. It is made by Hampton Forge, but is a better quality for some reason and it does not say "Hampton Forge" on the box but is engraved with "Hampton Forge" on the back of the flatware. The Target set does not rust when washed in a dishwasher.

Amazon will not charge you for return shipping if you use UPS. So, don't let shipping costs be the reason why you do not return this product. Thank God I took advantage of the free shipping, so I able to break even.

I have been looking and looking for some nice bamboo flatware that didn't have wood on the handle. I was surprised by the weight of this set. It's sturdy, but neither bulky nor heavy. It's very attractive and I think it's quite impressive. I'm so pleased that I am going to purchase two more sets. I love the spoons because they are nice and large and the knives are suitable for just about anything. I hadn't expected such nice quality with such a low price. Thanks!

The style and weight is nice. I did notice a few tiny rust spots after washing in dishwasher. The shape of the smaller spoon looks different in the photo than the actual.

I bought this flatware from Target a couple of days ago. It is an absolutely gorgeous set, but, unfortunately, I had to return it.
All of the pieces are heavy, and this particular set is high maintenance. In the care note it said hand wash only and not to use detergent with lemon in it (which I use all the time).

I would recomment Shangri-La if you want to impress your picky guests, and don't mind washing your dishes by hand after they leave.

I would not recomment it for your family to use everyday, especially if you have smaller children.

I would agree in general with the other reviews posted on here, but I wanted to expand on the problems I faced:

Con #1: The set is not quite as pictured. The lighting for the Amazon picture conceals part of the design detail of the handles. Rather than being smooth matte all around the handle (besides the base), there are two shiny circles on each of the front and back of the handle of each utensil. If you zoom real close on the Amazon picture and tilt your monitor, you can see the circles on the knife and sort of on the dinner fork. These circles are very apparent in real life because of the matte/shiny contrast. These circles are not necessarily a dealbreaker, but as someone looking for a simple, sleek design, I was a little turned off.

Con #2: The base of one of my knives rusted after I handwashed just five of the utensils one time and left them in my dish rack to dry. On closer inspection, it looks like the edge of the base of this knife was worn down past the shiny exterior, causing whatever was below it to rust. Whatever this is, it is beyond my comprehension for stainless steel (wearing down? rusting?) and is a dealbreaker in my book. I haven't checked the other 15 pieces yet, but even just 1 bad piece out of 20, after 1 handwash, is not promising for the life of this set.

Pros: good size, heavy weight, nice shape (I don't like excessively circular spoons, and these are nicely tapered), round handle feels nice.

I have had my set for over 5 years. The pieces get constant use and dishwashing and still look great. I have damaged a couple of pieces due to carelessness on my part causing me to look for replacements. I am so glad Hampton is still making this style because I have no interest in new flatware. I just love these. I think they offer to perfect for both casual and more formal entertaining.

My fiance and I bought this set when we first moved out together and loved them! We went back to the store to get another set but couldn't find them, but we did find them online. They're great! We also wash dishes in the dishwasher and I have found no rust stains. These are awesome!!!

I love this set! I purchased the bamboo mirror set and it looks so fancy and textured that I almost don't want to eat on them! The utensils are a strong and good size, not small and flimsy like many sets I have had before. Go for the gold! or in this case...the silver!
