Book Description

June 1, 2001
Liz Hampton Adams, famous society beauty, wants to divorce her husband but the year is 1925 and there is still the risk that such a high-profile divorce will bring scandal on the family name. Sent to Miami in an attempt to delay the inevitable, Liz meets ruthless but undeniably handsome Rich Pulaski -- and he seems even more interested in her than the million-dollar business deal she represents.

Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Following The Hampton Heritage (1978) and The Hampton Women (1980), The Hampton Passion focuses on Liz Hampton Adams. Tired of always coming in second after her husband Victor's job as a doctor, Liz debates the merits of a divorce, which is still slightly scandalous even in 1925, only to find herself drifting into an affair with a debonair real estate developer whom she meets on a business trip to Miami. Many things will change for Liz and her family as the giddy 1920s give way to the sober 1930s, but Liz will ultimately realize the one constant thing in her life is her husband's love and devotion. Readers who are new to this series may find it takes time to sort out all the prior relationships, but fans of the Hamptons will enjoy catching up with their favorite Atlanta family. A good choice for libraries where saga authors such as Belva Plain and Barbara Taylor Bradford are popular. John Charles
