Not Free SF Reader, November 3, 2007
This review is from: Han Solo at Stars' End (Mass Market Paperback)
Original adventures the best. Back then there was a novelisation, and Splinter of the Mind's Eye, by Alan Dean Foster. Then came this book, a great surprise, as it is rather good. It details some of Han's background in a different region of Space, the Corporate Sector Authority the rulers there, and also rather unpleasant. Spaceships, droids and gunplay to be found. Star Wars and particularly Solo fans should absolutely try and get these.

Han Solo: Before the Rebellion, December 3, 2005
If you're looking for a good book in the Star Wars genre, this is the one for you. I read it first in 1979 as a teenager when it was released in paperback form and was enraptured by the story. This is Star Wars it its finest: well-written, character-driven, and strangely, no mention of the Galactic Empire. Han and Chewie are hanging around and laying low in the Corporate Sector Authority, a small section of the galaxy that's self-governed and not allied with the Empire. It's also a haven for space pirates like Han and some friends of his to hide from the Empire. I recommend this book because it helps provide some background for our favorite smuggler and his hairy companion and based on when it was written, it's well worth tracking down to read. Check out the picture of the book cover I've downloaded. It's the original cover from the Science Fiction Book Club hardcover edition.

Captures the essence of the character perfectly!, September 4, 2010
This review is from: Han Solo at Stars' End (Mass Market Paperback)
All three of Brian Daley's Han Solo books are a good time. He captures the world of Han Solo and Chewbacca perfectly. Someone needs to cast Nathan Fillion as Han Solo and get these made into films!
