Gargling Madwoman Beats,
By Oliver Horne (London, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hanayo in Panacea (Audio CD)
Panacea gets a bit experimental on this one, assisted by weird Japanese girl Hanayo. The beats aren't your usual pedal to the metal hardcore D&B, rather flitting between white noise inflected digital hardcore, chunky breakbeats and surprisingly pleasant ambient electronica. Hanayo makes some odd noises to keep the whole thing edgy and different, ranging from eating (sounds like apples) to religious mutterings (I think from Bach). I'd definitely recommend this album to those with a penchant for the twisted.

It's not DnB!,

This review is from: Hanayo in Panacea (Audio CD)
Be forewarned: this CD is NOT Panacea's typical drum n bass style music. It's more like experimental dark electronica with Panacea at the decks looping samples realtime while vocalist from Japan, Hanayo, does her own thing. The keyword here is experimental--some of the tracks were amuzing to listen to though. The CD cover art and layout inside looks pretty cool but the music just didnt appeal to me.
