Amazing! Must have for lory owners.,
By Just Me (here and there across the USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hancock House Encyclopedia of the Lories (Hardcover)
Written by a true expert -- Rosemary Low -- who has worked as curator of 2 of the world's largest parrot collections and now breeds lories at her home in the U.K. From the back of the book: "Rosemary Low brings together, for the first time, detailed and absorbing information on lories' natural habits and aviculture. The first part of the book is an encyclopedia covering nearly 100 different subjects from aviaries to conservation and from folklore to next sites. In the second part, the biology of every species is described with detailed descriptions of plumage, chicks, eggs, habitat, conservation, and more. A special section includes distribution maps and information on locatilies where lories occur. The encylopedia's large reference section is a valuable source of futher reading. The book is a riot of color, with 140 color photographs." Vital for the pet owner or breeder. The information on diet is so important. FAR surpasses any other lory book -- I've read them all.

The Dusty Book Shelf or 612 Inc did a great job of packaging and shipping this book. It arrived in brand new condition, much better than
advertised and didn't fail to please me. Everything one wanted to know, and more, about Lories is in this book. What a beautiful representation of the Lory parrot species with gorgeous pictures to boot!! We lost our precious red lory Ruby after 11 years over this past Christmas season and are devestated, however this book has brought us smiles and hope again that we may someday experience the companionship and love of another lory. Thank you Amazon for offering this book, the Dusty Book Shelf for selling it, and Rosemary Law for writing it!! |
