I'm new to quilting and tried other forms of transferring stencils to my completed work. They were time-consuming and not so accurate. This Pounce Pad was so fast and easy to use. And it didn't wear away while I was quilting but did remove very easily once I was finished. It's a definite win.

I bought this pounce because I hate having blue lines running through my quilt top from marking with water soluble pens. I had read reviews on the website and on here, and figured it was worth a shot. I had to remark my quilt using a stencil 3 times. The chalk just faded away and I could barely see it in some areas. For that single quilt I also used about half of the powder that comes with it. It did iron off nicely - what stayed on that is. I would like to try the blue powder and see if it is more favorable, but hesitant to order more. This wasn't my first quilt or marking experience. I gave it 3 stars because compared to some other products I have used, it is a little more manageable.

Just fantastic for marking with stencils. Shows up beautifully even on light color fabrics. When I think I may not be able to see the markings, I use my Frixon pens. When finished, ironing removes all markings, both Chapman's pens. After reading all the complaints about too much powder being left, I watched a couple YouTube videos and learned the proper method to "wipe" it over the stencils, and the best way to load the pad WITHOUT overloading. There's a proper way to do everything, some people just won't take the time to learn before whining and complaining that its a bad product.

It allows for creating some very fancy designs and the powder disappears once heat is applied. 16 bucks? Make your own for pennies from a square of muslin, 1/3 cup of cornstarch and a rubber band. Put cornstarch in middle of muslin. gather up the edges of muslin and secure tightly with the rubber band. Store in plastic bag.

Voila -- works great, non-toxic, marks brush off or wash out.
