I highly recommend Maken's book to both the novice and experienced phonograph enthusiast. If you are a beginner you will appreciate the author's "easy to understand" writing style that compliments the numerous photos and graphics in the book. Everything you need to know to get started in collecting or enjoying phonographs is here at your fingertips. Read this book and shopping for an Edison or Victor will be a much more rewarding experience. To all you experienced "phono freaks" out there, the book is a pleasant reminder about why we all love these old phonographs!
