Book Description

The author of "Love Weaver" returns with a poignant story of love and loss in the picturesque town of Bay Point. Marla promises her dying sister that she'll look after her husband and help him deal with her death. Months later, Marla begins to question what that means. How far should she go to heal the wounds of her late sister's husband? How can she heal herself?

Set against the backdrop of a sparkling blue bay, Jennifer Ransom weaves a tale tinged with sorrow and true love.

“ Jennifer has done it again - Another Great Success! ”

“ From the time I began reading " Me Down Love" until the last word, I literally could not put it down for even a moment! ”

“ The story moves along so nicely, with wonderful character development, to where you feel as if you actually know Marla and Sean and the Anderson's ”

"It starts off strong and stays strong until you reach the end and are left wanting more. Can't wait to read the next book from this author. "

From the Author:

"I grew up in a family of artists--painters, musicians, furniture makers, chefs, actors, and writers. The entrepreneurial spirit runs strong in our genes. It was no surprise, then, that I married a Renaissance man, talented in visual arts and music. We are living a creative life. I love being a romance novel writer. Even though my books are all different, I think of them as a romance series really because each one is about people who are "free spirits."

I was also fortunate to grow up with some great cooks around me--my grandmother, my mother, my stepmother, and our housekeeper. I learned something from each of them about cooking that still influences me to this very day. Most of all, I learned that cooking for others is a loving act.

So, whenever I read a book that includes elements of creativity like cooking or decorating or music, I am happy. I can relate. Like the great Kay Scarpetta mysteries that sometimes include actual recipes. Or when I read a book about a character that makes a living without relying on an employer. That makes me happy, too. As a long-time employee, I like that idea. I think a lot of people like that idea."

About my other novels:

In my first romance novel, "Love Weaver," the main character, Sunnie, is a woman born in a small mountain village in Alabama.

After attending college in Tennessee, she ends up in New York City married to a very successful lawyer. Sunnie has made a splash on the New York art scene with her beautiful woven wall hangings. Life is good -- until she learns of the affair her husband is having with a co-worker.

Betrayal and divorce behind her, Sunnie heads back to her small town in the mountains of Alabama to try to put her life back together. After reconnecting with old high school friends, she comes face to face with some hard, cold realizations about herself. Oh, yes, and there's a love story, one that started in high school, though Sunnie knew nothing about it. An unknown love that put a wedge between her and her best friend. Sunnie never knew why, until she goes home again.

My most recent romance novel on Kindle is a time travel romance called "Come Down In Time" that spans the infinite possibilities in life. As I wrote, I thought about all the little and big decisions we make, and how they affect our future. I thought about family and love relationships, and how every action we take affects those relationships. I thought about forever, eternal love and wondered if it always transcends time.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not terrible September 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was the first book I've read by this author, and I can't say I'm inclined to hunt down others. I found the writing (especially in the first half of the book), to be slightly stilted and juvenile, almost as if written for a middle or high school creative writing class (although no kid in a creative writing class EVER writes a "happily ever after"). But there was enough of interest to keep me reading until the end, and it wasn't a complete waste of time. Inevitably one tries to imagine oneself in such a position, and it's hard to know how one would act or feel. Overall the author did a fairly good job of telling a convincing, sympathetic story.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just Ok September 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was just okay. I felt that the Hero was too passive. He let everything up to the H to sort out. they just slid in to sex and into love and the book was just okay because of that. There was no spark between these 2 ppl.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful love story, but so much more... July 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Beautifully written. A poignant story about family, love, loss, healing, and finding love after loss. The story moves along so nicely, with wonderful character development, to where you feel as if you actually know Marla and Sean and the Anderson's. The story takes place in a southern coastal town called Bay Point and just as with the first novel from Jennifer Ransom, this novel has ignited my creative juices and has inspired me to try something new and exciting...I am cooking gumbo for the first time in my life tonight! I've actually got the shrimp thawing in the fridge, as I type and I plan to cook the rue just as Merrie teaches Marla to do, in Hand Me Down Love, just before Merrie passes away of a brain tumor. I never knew cooking gumbo could be so powerful and emotional, but as Merrie teaches her younger sister Marla the steps to her delicious gumbo, I cried and cried and cried; I felt as if I was in this moment, with these two sisters. And then, when Merrie asks her sister to look after her husband, after she's gone...oh my, I cried some more. It's just such a touching story; very real, very raw and very captivating.

The narrative style pulls you in, plus the dialog and the moving along of the plot...I just couldn't put this book down. It starts off strong and stays strong until you reach the end and are left wanting more. Can't wait to read the next book from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great June 29, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This book has such an incredible story, even just after the first few pages I already feel the emotion coming right through that the author is trying to express. All the characters seem really raw and real and the writing is written in such a good way that it's impossible to find any flaws in the story. If you're looking for a book full of plot twists you'd never see coming, then you have to give this a read - I definitely recommend this

Jennifer Ransom has done it again with this beautifully written book! I loved her first book "Love Weaver" so I bought "Hand-Me-Down Love" as soon as it was available on Amazon, and I couldn't wait to read it! A wonderful story from beginning to end with a few unexpected twists, this second book captured me and put me right in the middle of these characters' lives, loves, struggles and triumphs! Well done, Jennifer Ransom, I am such a fan and cannot wait to read your next book! Love Weaver

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved the concept.... September 7, 2013

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I truly enjoyed the story line and the characters, however I rolled my eyes several times throughout. During those eye rolling moments it seemed the story was written by a teenager. I found I had to read a few things twice to understand. Again I enjoyed the story and found myself wondering how real life would play out in that situation.

More About the Author

I grew up in a family of artists--painters, musicians, furniture makers, chefs, actors, and writers. The entrepreneurial spirit runs strong in our genes. It was no surprise, then, that I married a Renaissance man, talented in visual arts and music. We are living a creative life.

I was also fortunate to grow up with some great cooks around me--my grandmother, my mother, my stepmother, and our housekeeper. I learned something from each of them about cooking that still influences me to this very day. Most of all, I learned that cooking for others is a loving act.

As a long-time employee, I like that idea. I think a lot of people like that idea.

Life's journey has introduced me to people in many walks of life. What I have found in common with everyone is that they all have a way of expressing creativity. It might be in baking made-from-scratch cakes; it might be working on cars; it might be in photography; it could be in how they care for their children. The spark is there, in us all.

I have spent my career as a writer and editor. And one day, I thought, I'm going to write the book that I want to read. The idea began to tumble around in my mind. I already loved romance novels, but wanted to add an element that would always be in my novels. That's when I decided to write romance novels about creative and free spirits. Because all of us have creativity; all of us have a free spirit, manifesting itself in our cooking and gardening, in how we decorate our homes, in how we make our living, in how we love the people and pets in our lives.

I started to write Love Weaver, drawing on a time when I actually was a weaver. I didn't know when I started the book where it would take me. It sort of wrote itself as I explored creativity and the issues that people have when they fall in love, issues that might be unknown to them but make their way into the relationship anyway.

Thank you for reading Love Weaver. I've published two other kindle romance novels that I'd like to invite you to check out. One is Hand-Me-Down Love. It's about a woman who runs an antique and vintage shop in a little bay town. She promises her dying sister that she will look after her husband. That's when the complications begin.

The second one is Come Down in Time, a time travel romance. Be sure to leave a review if you enjoy them.
