More About the Author

I grew up in the beautiful suburb of Westport Connecticut. After Boston University, I moved to New York City. In Manhattan I spent time in many political campaigns as fundraiser and writer. New York was a Democratic town. We never fought with Republicans, we fought with each other! It was exciting and I thought I was making a contribution. When I moved to California, my connections helped me transistion into the political world in LA.

September 11th, 2001, changed me and I had to re-evaluate my politics. I used to work in lower Manhattan and saw on TV the streets and buildings covered with dust and so many people killed in an instant. In LA, I volunteered for the USO at LAX and watched Marines from Camp Pendleton fly out to their next training base. I also served an Army Family Readiness unit near me.I called families of deployed soldiers to check if they needed anything and helped with the Army Christmas parties for the kids. It didn't seem enough. I had to find another way to express my ideas and support the troops. I made political commercials and wrote articles.

In 2008 I was the co-writer and executive producer of the political comedy feature 'An American Carol'

I decided to write my first novel 'Hand of Fatima' because I was angry about the lies surrounding Benghazi, the terrorist attack that occurred in 2012. The four men that died that day had families and friends who loved them. Our leaders acted as if it was a political mess to get passed and forgotten. The novel is a thriller about terrorism and how it affects real people.

Short fast chapters keep the story moving forward. Well written, fast paced and interesting. Good clean story regarding bloody scenes, sex and foul language. Read with confidence a well written clean thriller. Enjoyed the high tech parts without a lot of boring description. A thriller at the highest level of government and what could happen with a dishonest head of government.

This book grabs you from the very first page and makes itself hard to put down. I was impressed with the chapter lengths and how the story flowed along. Very hard to put down once I started reading. Bring on next installment.

Myrna Sokoloff has created an exciting page-turning thriller you won't want to put down. With incredible foresight, Sokoloff highlights a great deal of the government corruption that is currently taking place. With multi-faceted characters, she brings to life national and foreign policy issues paralleling the current administration's scandals such as the NSA spying and Benghazi attacks. Sokoloff also deftly weaves this political, national security thriller with faith and family. The first page of her novel sets the tone by warning us all not to put our trust in princes--or anyone claiming to be one. You won't want to stop reading. I can't wait to read her next book!

Great read! Good length! You really feel for the characters whom are developed quite well, especially Massoud. The ending suggests there being a sequel of sorts which I would definitely look forward to. Its very clear there was a lot of thought and effort put into both the plot and the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed Hand of Fatima. A great sequester read!

When I read this book shortly after it came out, I had no idea that parts of the fictional plot of "Hand of Fatima" would come true. What makes the story so important is its plausibility. The protagonists in this story put themselves in danger to prevent a disaster to the United States. Some feel that we currently have a big government that is threatening, secret & too powerful. There is indeed a government cover up story in the book just as we have accusations by some Congressmen of sinister government cover ups today. Can the protagonists in the book stop the danger to the USA? You must read this book to find out.. The thrilling story in the "Hand of Fatima" is timely & meaningful. You will not be able to put it down.

This covert adventure is very gripping. The characters are excellent. The story is
of an operation to determine the truth of a compromised operation that ends in the
death of a SEAL and injury of others. The widow and family members of the SEAL
work with various governments groups, domestic and foreign, to track the one responsible.
It is very good.

To me, a good novel must be both entertaining and make readers feel smarter after they finish reading. This was just that. Having worked in DC for the last 10+ years, I thought I had decent understanding of the middle east politics. After reading this, I feel I was missing out an important human perspective. I could see myself feeling like the characters in the book and see things through interested parties' eyes. On top of that, I can now distinguish various Jewish holidays and a few smart words to say. I just bought 2 hard copies to share w/ a few friends. I highly recommend it.

I finished this book because the author had a good plot idea. However, it was very difficult to read. I have to wonder if the author has an editor! Sentence construction was very poor. Many times there were 2-3 'buts' in one sentence. Verb tenses didn't match, periods were left out frequently, and the words 'glad' and 'blushed' were used so often I had to wonder if the characters were capable of any other emotions. Hopefully, the author will take a good writing class and then be able to communicate her interesting plots more forcefully.
