My favorite album,

I keep this tape in my car, must have played it 300 times, and "Sunshine" never fails to bring me to tears (I was my Mom's Sunshine). All the songs and all the artists are superb. I am ordering it on CDs for myself and my two children and their children because every parent and child needs this heart music.

Sweet, calming music for parents and children,

This review is from: Hand In Hand (Songs Of Parenthood) (Audio CD)
I buy this CD for every new parent I know. As a new mother, I found both the familiar songs and the ones new to me to be touching, soothing meditations on the art of loving and caring for children. My son was soothed to sleep by John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy" many times, and I was calmed by the words and melodies of Judy Collins, Jackson Browne and others on the CD. This is simply a collection of beautiful, sweet (and a few wonderful quirky silly) songs about and for parents and children. Enjoy!

A good CD but a little dark...,

I like this CD and I will definitely recommend it to others. I only have a few complaints (hence the 4 stars)... Many of the songs on this CD, although beautiful and meaningful, are very dark and somewhat depressing. I was expecting songs something more like Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World". I think if you are in a reflective/somber mood this CD would suit your mood. Rather than feel uplifted some of the songs are a reminder of how old I'm getting and how old my children are getting rather than how much I love and cherish them. Another thing I didn't love about the CD was how it caters a little more toward parents with childeren who are older than mine (4 and 2). I know as my children grow this CD will become more meaningful though. Lastly, there are some really great songs on this CD and some not-so-great songs. So in other words, plan on skipping past a few selections regularly. All the other reviewers gave all 5 stars so I hope this presents a more realistic view of what this CD is about if you are interested in purchasing it.
