2.0 out of 5 stars rough going, December 1, 2004
This review is from: The Handbook of Advanced Business Valuation (Irwin Library of Investment & Finance) (Hardcover)
The author is obviously an expert in this field, but his book is very difficult to wade through, even for someone well-versed in finance. I had the same issue with the "Body of Knowledge" books. If all you do for a living is valuation, you might appreciate these tombs, but for practical use, one I like more is "Unlocking the Value of Your Business".

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have for Business Valuation, December 16, 2008

This review is from: The Handbook of Advanced Business Valuation (Irwin Library of Investment & Finance) (Hardcover)
This book is written by top experts in business valuations. I found the information to be well supported and fundamentally sound. Many valuation books talk about the same basic theory. The authors of this book dive into valuation areas that you don't get from other business valuation books. Some things that I found indispensable were valuations for economic damages, valuations for ad valorem taxation, sports team valuation and venue feasibility, valuation of automobile dealerships, valuations of radio broadcasting companies, physician practice valuation, valuations for emerging growth companies, and valuations of closely held government technology service firms. I highly recommend this book.
