5.0 out of 5 stars ANOTHER AWARD WINNER! A MUST-HAVE for R&D labs and libraries, October 16, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Handbook of Advanced Electronic and Photonic Materials and Devices, Ten-Volume Set (Hardcover)
The Handbook of Advanced Electronic and Photonic Materials and Devices is among the most imformative and authorative handbooks on advanced electronic and photonic materials and devices. In fact, it is the very FIRST handbook ever published on Electronic and Photonic Materials and Devices! It contains extremely up-to-date reference work on past two decades of pioneering research in both novel materials and devices; it covers the synthesis, processing, fabrication, characterization, spectroscopy, physical properties and device applications of electronic and photonic materials. In all, it contains over 100 state-of-the-art review chapters written by more than 200 world-leading experts from 25 different countries. As a chief technologist and a practicing engineer working in a R&D lab for a multi-national, multi-billion-dollar-strong semiconductor IC company, I regard this handbook as extremely useful since nowadays the difficulties in developing state-of-the-art sub-0.13 micron CMOS processes & devices are almost ALWAYS associated with the material properties of Si! I have found the Vol. 2 of this handbook to be particularly interesting and useful, as the studies and the reviews on the research on the advancement of material science become critically important and valuble for practical engineers (E.E. or Ch.E).

Since Dr. Nalwa's previous handbook that was published last year on "Handbook of Nanostructured Materials and Nanotechnology" received 1999 Award of Excellence in Engineering Handbooks from the Association of American Publishers, I have high hope that this set of handbook on Advanced Electronic and Photonic Materials and Devices will also be a big award-winner! This book is a must-have for R&D labs and universities libraries.
