This review is from: A Handbook of Chemical Technology (Hardcover)
While the title listed is that on the title page, the title on the cover is "Wagner's Chemical Technology 1872". This is a new reprint of the 1872 translation of a 1870 German chemical engineering handbook. I have a fairly large collection of old science and engineering books, reprint and original, and this has the most complete coverage of any. It is divided into eight Divisions:

Division I covers the materials science and chemistry of the day.

Division II covers the production of chemicals; saltpetre, various acids, salts, ammonia, soap making, and more.

Division III is the "Technology of Glass, Ceramic Ware, Gypsum, Lime, and Mortar".

Division IV covers plant products: fibers, foods, alcohols, vinegars, wood preservatives, tobacco, and medicinals.

Division V covers animal products: wools, silks, leather, glue making, phosphorus manufacture, milk, and meat.

Division VI is dyeing and textile printing.

Division VII covers contemporary artificial light - candles, oil lights, water gas, natural gas, petroleum, and so on.

Division VIII covers heating and fuels.

The reason I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars is that it shares the lack of illustrations and confusing paragraph and section structure (to modern readers) common in 19th century books.
