Editorial Reviews

Review

This is an outstanding book! It allows the reader a privileged look into the consulting room of over 20 practicing sex therapists who are experienced, humane, and talented. Their unique voices and personalities emerge as they each describe how they go about alleviating the sexual suffering of their client. This book belongs on the shelf of every clinician who is intrigued by and committed to understanding sexual life and its exigencies!.
–Sandra Leiblum, Ph.D., Director, Center of Sexual and Marital Health, Professor of Psychiatry, UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School

An essential and invaluable resource for clinicians who encounter common sexual complaints and problems. Levine, Risen, and Althof have brought together the experts in the field of clinical sexology from a variety of theoretical approaches to explain the latest methods of assessment and treatment. From cover to cover, the authors maintain an intimacy with the reader making this book highly readable and informative.
–Eli Coleman, Ph.D., Professor and Director, Program in Human Sexuality, University of Minnesota Medical School

This book takes therapists by the hand and teaches them to tackle sexual problems and concerns on their own, comfortably and effectively. Several chapters take on extremely complex material and organize it brilliantly. These chapters are destined to become classics in the field. I will treasure my copy of the Handbook.
–Peggy J. Kleinplatz, Ph.D., School of Psychology, University of Ottawa, editor, New Directions in Sex Therapy: Innovations and Alternatives
