5.0 out of 5 stars Handy for Residency
This Handbook contains in synopsis form most of the information included in the basic ACLS course, including all of the main algorithms. Also, it includes the BLS algorithm and short sections in the back that include PALS and Neonatal Resuscitation info. 3.0 out of 5 stars Guidelines 2005
I found this book hard to follow and nothing is tabbed for easy access in an emergent situation which is what it is supposed to do. If you prepare for ACLS by reading the book that is given with the class you will find that is all you need. If you want a refresher for ekg rhythm strips or a tabbed book look for davis notes for ecg.

5.0 out of 5 stars Handy for Residency, July 1, 2006
This review is from: Handbook of Emergency Cardiovascular Care: For Healthcare Providers (AHA Handbook of Emergency Cardiovascular Care) (Spiral-bound)
This Handbook contains in synopsis form most of the information included in the basic ACLS course, including all of the main algorithms. Also, it includes the BLS algorithm and short sections in the back that include PALS and Neonatal Resuscitation info. Of note, the algorithms included for the ACLS and BLS are the newly revised AHA versions (the ones that went into effect on July 1, 2006), so you don't have to worry about wasting your money purchasing a book with out-of-date algothims and information. (Like the current edition of the ACLS provider's manual that's still on sale through Amazon.) The spiral-bound format of this book isn't quite as white coat pocket-friendly as the cards that come with the ACLS provider manual but, as I mentioned there's more information in this than is put on the cards and, at least as of when I'm writing this, they don't have up to date cards for sale yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome flip guide, May 30, 2009
I am taking my initial paramedic class and recently took my first ACLS class. I purchased the ACLS book and my instructor recommended this ECC flip guide. It follows the ACLS book to a tee and in my opinion, I get more use out of the flip guide then the book. GREAT TOOL!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars great Little Reference, But guideline are being updated, November 2, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
great little reference for use during on-calls, even for Cardiology trainees, but guidelines are being updated again and AHA may come out with new version soon.

Flow-charts formmanagment of arrythmias and CAd are very useful. Overall a good buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good update to the 2000 version., October 11, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Handbook of Emergency Cardiovascular Care: For Healthcare Providers (AHA Handbook of Emergency Cardiovascular Care) (Spiral-bound)
I bought this to update from the 2000 version. A handy reference and easy to bring along, with tons of useful information and flowcharts. Is also helpful when reviewing for ACLS re-certification.

5.0 out of 5 stars Used for ACLS course instead of the regular book, October 28, 2011

The regular book was not available in time for the date I needed it - slow shipping. So I had no choice but to use this spiral bound handbook. Turned out it was all I needed. And it's all you would need if you were doing the Pediatric ACLS and OB ACLS as well. You are allowed to reference the algorithms in the handbook while taking the final quiz. This handbook was concise, less reading, had all the info necessary. Seems a little overpriced for what it is, but can be used for other courses, so maybe it's three texts for the price of one. Easier to flip through with the spiral binding as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Reference, October 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This pocket sized AHA reference is a fantastic "must-have" for any ED or Pre-Hospital provider. It can replace the full manual for both Adult and Pediatric ACLS for the experienced provider. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Check for Latest Additions, September 19, 2011
I find these reviews rather confusing because the date on some of them preceded the publication date of the latest (updated) manual that's advertised. Although, there may be similarities with each update I think it's important to correct this and to ensure that purchases are filled with the latest manual otherwise, some of the information is outdated and you'd being studying obsolete information. I've always thought that the manuals were well written but, it would be a little frustrating to have my order filled with an outdated manual because the person handling the order didn't understand the importance of having updated health manuals versus emptying the shelves of the previous edition of a novel before selling the newer version. My rating is based on past experience because I haven't read the latest version.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK, January 18, 2007
This review is from: Handbook of Emergency Cardiovascular Care: For Healthcare Providers (AHA Handbook of Emergency Cardiovascular Care) (Spiral-bound)
I purchased this pocket guide as it is a required book for EMSTI Paramedic School Jan. 2007 class. This book was released in 2005 but it is only updated once every 5 years so it is still good. Great book, have the info you need for the drugs required for class.
