5.0 out of 5 stars Superb, November 30, 2010
This review is from: The Handbook to Jewish Spiritual Renewal: A Path of Transformation for the Modern Jew (Paperback)
This is an ideal book for any mainstream non-Orthodox Jewish person who would like to deepen his or her Jewish observance, who may be looking for an answer to the oft-asked question "Why be Jewish?" or for anyone considering conversion. This guide book provides a window on Jewish spirituality, shows you how to connect to God, and what it means to live Jewish values. With grace and humor, Rabbi Segal explains how to pray, bless, and meditate, and offers insights on the holidays, the sabbath, and walking with God throughout the day. Also, the book is printed in large type for easier reading, with complex ideas expressed in simple and accessible language.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the BEST books I have read!!!, November 11, 2011

This review is from: The Handbook to Jewish Spiritual Renewal: A Path of Transformation for the Modern Jew (Paperback)
Searching thru Amazon looking for a decent book, I came upon this title. Having read countless "self-help"/motivational books, I expected to be seriously disappointed. The perfect attitude to begin this book! Having lived thru many trials, and currently battling my most recent challenge - Multiple Sclerosis, I was searching for understanding, searching for something, anything to hold on to and aid me in rising above this latest time of darkness. I had no idea this book would be so incredible, so powerful, so life changing! Reading this book one truly cannot help but feel that the author wrote this book specifically for "me". The love, compassion, understanding is clear, loud and present on every page. Refusing to accept or embrace cheap excuses, cop outs, or finger pointing the author creates a loving and completely safe forum for one to truly and really look at ones' life. I cannot even come close to properly describing how powerful, how dead on this book is. I felt as if I had gained a "best friend" while reading this book. This may sound far out, ridiculous, even possibly delusional, but I assure you, I am sane! I have read thousands of books in my lifetime and by far, this book will always be on my top 10. I am Jewish but have shared this treasure with many non-Jewish friends and all came away with the same benefits. You do not need to be Jewish to grown, to gain, to benefit from this book. If I had this book 10, 15 or 20 years ago, my story would be substantially different. I am so grateful, so thankful that I was lead to read this book and highly recommend it to anyone who has ever struggled, questioned, felt lost. I recommend this book to anyone who has lead a great life. Regardless of your story, your burdens, your joys, this is a comforting "hug" that will truly enhance your life and bring you comfort. I hope and pray this author will pen more amazing blueprints to life!!! Thank you for this gift!
