land mobile system communication systems reference,
By A Customer
This review is from: Handbook of Land-Mobile Radio System Coverage (Artech House Telecommunications Library) (Hardcover)
Land-mobile systems are plagued by the eccentricities of the near-earth path. The mobile receiver is subject to uncontrollable noise sources, and thus Hess's attention to noise distributions is most helpful. Multiple path loss models are given and explained well. There is a Fortran disk in the back, but this language is of somewhat limited utility now. Perhaps the software should be translated to Visual Basic or C to have wider availability to reader/users.

If you have a BSEE this will be a great book. For those of us who don't speak calculus, it's slow going. I think it provides very good coverage of a technical subject.
