Editorial Reviews

Review

“A fine overview of the status and distribution of Texas’ 623 species documented through 2002. There is just the right level of detail for such a readable, portable summary covering the incredible diversity of birds found within the Lone Star State. Accurate, and with excellent range maps.”--Paul Lehman, Chief Range-Map consultant for the Sibley, National Geographic Society, and Roger Tory Peterson field guides; past editor, Birding magazine

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for Texas birders, May 5, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: The TOS Handbook of Texas Birds (Louise Lindsey Merrick Natural Environment Series) (Paperback)
The new TOS Handbook is an indispensable reference to the current status of Texas' avifauna. The range maps are excellent and show seasonal changes in gray scale. Anyone interested in birding in Texas will want a copy of this book. It is not a field guide, but a reference on status and distribution.
